「one」の使い方ですが・・

写真の中に写っている2人の人物を英語で説明する場合ですが、 例えば 「左は日本人で、右は韓国人です」を極力簡潔に説明する場合に 「The left one is Japanese and the right one is Korean」 だと間違っていますか？ 「one」の使い方はこの場合適切ではないですか？ 間違っている場合は訂正をお願いいたします。

英語母語話者としては、私は普通に「The person on the left is Japanese and the on on the right is Korean」と言います。ですけど、普通に性が知っていますよね。だとしたら、「The guy on the left is Japanese and she's Korean」とか、「The guy on the left is Japanese and the girl is Korean」とかいうのはもっと自然だと思います。

The left person is Japanese and the right person is Korean. The left person is Japanese and the other is Korean. A person standing on the left is Japanese and the other is Korean. などでしょうか。 写真に写っている人を指差して言う場合はたいてい男女わかるので man, woman, person などとして、繰り返す場合は he, her などです。 したがって男と女が移っていたら This man is Japanese and the woman is Korean とかです。無理に one を使わなくてもすみますね。

写真に写っている人物が二人だけであるならば、 「The left is Japanese. Another is Korean.」 とした方が、より簡潔です。
