I feel very sorry for the so-called "comfort women" who were forced to "entertain" Japanese soldiers during WWII. It seems a trivial issue whether it was Japanese women or Korean women that the military brought along for the soldiers. The fact remains however, that women were exploited by the military as sex slaves, and that is shameful and unforgivable. Having that said, let us reflect on the men who had been sent to the battlefield, knowing they have no chance of winning. Think about the Kamikaze pilots and those who went to die in Kaiten. Let us try and put things in perspective. It may be that the fate of such soldiers was just as tragic, if not more tragic, than that of comfort women. No one goes to fight a war to die. If anything, people go to war trying to kill the other guys, the enemy soldiers, and not themselves. I guess the bottom line, is that a war brings nothing but tragedy.
