freedom from this world

ダライラマの記事です。 "Why is he thinking of the future and not the present, the past?" asks an outspoken Tibetan in Dharamsala. "I want freedom in this world, not from this world." という文章があり、実はこの文章を訳しているサイトをちょい見したところ、　"我々は今自由が欲しいのであって将来ではない"となってました。 この将来ではないという訳に疑問を感じてるのですが、説明お願いします(´＿｀。)

全文を読んでいないのと、元記事はどのサイトをご覧になられたのかわかりませんが、ダラムサラのチベット人の話のあとに、その人が50年代にCIAのトレーニングを受け、悲惨な反対闘争に参画していたことが書いていないでしょうか。また、前段でチベット外にいる人たちが、チベット内に家族が残っているものもおり、抹殺されかねないなど、落ち着かない日々を送っているであろうことも書いていると思います。 で "I want freedom in this world, not from this world." うしろに「from」とイタリックによる強調があるので、後半は「その当時」からの自由ではなく、現在の安寧（生活も家族の安心なども含めた）がほしいのだ、とチベット人は述べています。 「その当時」とは、アメリカ支援の中でおこった、50年代の独立死守抵抗であり闘争時代をさしています。 　→これはその記事に中で描かれたradical急進派であるダライ・ラマらがが思い描くビジョンで起こった過去 　　→戦った理由は、1911年清朝崩壊から1949年中国成立までは、ほぼ自由だったチベットの自治を守るための戦い 　　　→この戦いの終着点は、未来のいつかに達成する「独立」、もしくはダライのいう「完全自治」 であることがわかります。そして、 1. 過去の闘争の終着点（独立または完全自治）はまだ訪れておらず、達成地点は「将来にあることは明白」 2. そのチベット人も「Why is he thinking of the future（略）?」とダライが未来をみがちであることを指摘している これらから、（我々は誤訳、Iなので私） "私はこの世界からの（現在の）自由が欲しいのであって、ダライらが描くような将来の自由ではないのだ" と言いたかったのでしょう、

我々は今自由が欲しいのであり、将来に自由が欲しいのである。 つまり、「我々が自由を求めるのは今であり、将来である」の方がしっくり来ると思います。よくやってしまいそうなミスですが・・・
