Thus no sooner had Zhao said the one-child policy was being reconsidered than Prime Minister Wen Jiabao tried to squelch the news, insisting no change was in store. この no sooner had Zhao said the one-child policy was being reconsidered という部分で疑問があるのですが、 この had Zhao said というのは as Zhao had said (Zhaoが言ったように)という意味でしょうか それと was being reconsideredは 見直しがされているという意味なのでしょうか それとも 見直しがされるであろうという意味なのでしょうか 宜しくお願いします(´＿｀。)

分詞構文を勉強しているのですが、beingが省略されたりされなかったりする例文がありよく分かりません。 (1) Because there was no bridge, we had to... (2) There being no bridge, we had to... (3) Because Mary was absent today, we couldn't prepare... (4) Mary being absent today, we couldn't prepare... (5) Mary absent today, we couldn't prepare... 主語が異なる時のことなのですが、上の文はbeingが省略されていませんが、下の文は省略されています。これはどういう事なのでしょうか？ よろしくお願いします。
