本文は省略します。 本文の注釈の形で次の文章が続きます。 ーーーーーthose bold souls chose to write their social commentaries in a meter that many of the day believed had mysterial properties. 訳文は次の通りです そうした面々は社会時評を書く際にも多くの人々に神秘的な印象を与えるその韻律を用いたという 質問です 文中の（many of the day)は挿入句でしょうか。私なりに「当時の多くの人たちが信じていたことであるが」と意訳しました。

週に一度はこの構文にかんする質問が来ますね。 もっとも、構文では検索できないし、今回は文章そのものが難しいから、無理もありませんが。 例によって、関係節を二つの文に分けます。 ... a meter これが先行詞 many of the day believed (that) the meter had mysterial properties. つまり、(that) the meter had mysterial properties は believed の目的語になります。 さてここで、従属節の the meter を関係代名詞の that にして、先行詞の後ろに持って行けば、 a meter that many of the day believed had mysterial properties のできあがり。 意味は a meter までが、 「その大胆な人々は社会時評をある韻律で書くことにした」 で、その「韻律」がどういう韻律だったかというと、 「当時の多くの人々が、mysterial な印象を与えると信じていた」 まとめると、 「その大胆な人々は社会時評を、当時の多くの人々が、mysterial な印象を与えると信じていたある韻律で書くことにした」 この構文の場合、挿入で説明されることも多いと思います。その考え方の方がしっくり来るというのであれば、many of the day believed を挿入とお考えください。 ＃mysterial とは、mysterious？ mystical？ それとも mystic？

この文を２つに分けると、 those bold souls chose to write their social commentaries in a meter.と （それらの大胆な者たちは韻律で社会時評を書くことを選んだ） Many of the day believed it(=a meter) had mysterial properties. （当時の多くの人がその韻律は神秘的な特徴を持っていると信じていた） となっていたと考えられます。 後半のitが前半のa meterと関係代名詞thatで結ばれたため、many of the day believedが 間に残ったのでしょう。

ーthose bold souls chose to write their social commentaries in a meter that many of the day believed had mysterial properties. many of the dayが挿入句というのは少なくともありえないと思いますよ。manyはここでは名詞ですから、関係代名詞thatが目的語とすると、主語だと思います。 ですから、主節Sは、thoseからbelievedまでではないでしょうか？ V（動詞）はhadだと判断します。 ですから、直訳は、大多数が信じていた韻律において社会的時評を書くことを選んでいた中心的な者たちは、 神秘的な印象を与えた。 これはおかしいでしょうかね？ちょっと中身が分からないので判断がつかないですが・・・文法的には他に思いつきません。

友達に体育の日について説明するために、日本では、この日が一番晴れる確立が高かったので東京オリンピックがこの日におこなわれました。それを記念してこの休日がつくられ、この日には多くの運動会が開催されます。 というような文章をつくりたいんですが、うまくつくることができません。 Tokyo Olympic was held on that day because ～ in Japan. The holiday was a memorial of the Olympic and there are many sports festival on that day. 前後の文も自信ありませんが、特に～の部分がわかりません。アドバイスいただけませんか？ よろしくお願いします。
