renounceさんの挙げられたどちらかなら、 Being hit～のほうが私にはしっくりきますが、 どちらでもいいのでは？と思います。 単純にその日本語を英訳するとしたら、私も#1さんと同じにします。

新型インフルエンザに関するアメリカのニュースを見ていたら、 市民からの問い合わせに対応している人が " This is be (being?) going to how long? " と言っているのを聞きました。 「どのくらいその症状が？」という感じだと思います。 be の部分はbeing にも聞こえたような気がします。 質問なのですが、 be動詞の後に be もしくは being がきてさらに going to が続くと 文法的にはどのように解釈するのでしょうか。 ネットで検索したら" is be going to " でも " is being going to " でもヒットしました。 どうして継続を表す現在完了を使わないのかも疑問です。 このような言い回しはふつうに使われているものですか？ ご存知の方おしえていただけたら嬉しいです。 よろしくお願いします。

（～しない事）という文法はありますか？ 例えば （お酒を飲むことはあなたの健康にとって良くない）ですと不定詞を使って It is not good to drink for your health. ですよね？ （お酒を飲まない事はあなたの健康にとって良くない）となるとどうすれば良いですか？ It is not good that you don't drink for your health. なら表せそうですが・・・。 It is not good to don't drink for your health. などは駄目ですよね？？ できれば詳しく教えていただけると嬉しいです。 宜しく御願いいたします。

- 不定詞？ not toかto notか
中学校で不定詞のときnotはtoの前に置けと習った記憶があります。そして今、英文を書いていて自信がなかったのでGoogleで"it is absurd not to be able to"と検索したら一件ヒットしました。今度は"it is abusrurd to not be able to"で検索したら４件ヒットしました。not toかto notどちらが正しいのでしょうか。
