Although it was a well-known painting before being stolen, many people believe it would not be as famous today had it not been for Peruggia ★as it (= the painting) was then (= at the time)★.

Train conversations of this kind - and they do happen, although not of course as often as the popular myth supposes - are good example.上の文章の一文although not of course as often as the popular myth supposesの所が分からないです。 そうすると、考えにくいですが、 the popular myth supposes (that) they are often.

- There was an empty space where the painting should have been.
On Tuesday August 11th 1911 a young artist, Louis Beraud, arrived at the Louvre in Paris to complete a painting of the Salon Carre. This was the room where the world’s most famous painting, the Mona Liza, was on display. To his surprise, there was an empty space where the painting should have been. A guard told him it was probably being photographed. An hour later several visitors had complained about the missing picture, and so the guard went to enquire about it. At 11 o’clock the museum authorities realized that the painting had been stolen.(以下省略) (1997年2月15日実施、中央大学理工学部、設問1) この第3文 ” there was an empty space where the painting should have been” のwhereは次のうちどちらであると説明されるのが一般的なのでしょうか? 1.

(1)It being Sunday, there was no school. (2)the meeting being over ,people came out of the room. また、( )anything else to buy,she went out of the store. The sun having set,we hurried to our home.

Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, has condemned the meeting, as has the government of Iran, which has predicted it will end in failure. (1)上の文で, as hasとありますがas the govermentとの違いは何なのでしょうか? Hamas has condemned the meeting, as has the government of Iran, which has predicted it will end in failure. Hamas has condemned the meeting as the government of Iran which has predicted it will end in failure. (2)whether or notのnotについて 本日「…to see whether or not peace is possible.」 。。
