"Unpacking ideas" の意味するところは、「頭の中に詰まっている思考（ideas）の荷をほどいて（unpack）その考えを周りの人と共有する」ということです。 "Provide" も自分の考えを周りの人に提供するという点では同じですが、自分の頭の中にしまっていたものを外に解き放す、というニュアンスが欠けています。 そういう意味では "unload" の方が近いかもしれません。 The author unloads ideas surrounding racism and prejudice.
