- 最初の節は現在完了（継続）で、帝国は長い間十字軍戦士たちに魔導師たちの監視の役割を与えてきたことを意味していると思います。
- 最後の節の意味は「彼らは絶対になにも必要としないようにできているのである」となると思いますが、they made forが文法的に疑問です。

回答ありがとうございます。 会計役騎士と言う訳語の方がスマートな感じしますね。 企業のtreasurerをトレジャラーと訳すというのは知りませんでした。 in need of の否定は「なにも必要としない」ではなく 「何の不足もしない」なんですね。 madeの意味について疑問が残りますがいい勉強になりました。 ＞ Treasurerという名前から考えると、この騎士は魔法使いに対する物質的な支給に関することを担当しているのかもしれません。 ゲームの内容からは騎士の役割までは分かりませんでしたが、剣の代わりに帳簿のような物をもっている 十字軍騎士の絵がついていたので魔導師たちの給与（恩給？）の支給などを担当しているように見えます。

回答ありがとうございます。 make for : 役に立つ、寄与する 確かに辞書にありました、一発検索で「お誂え向き」 と思い込んでいたので辞書の使い方が甘かったなぁと思ってます。 文法にこだわり過ぎるのはあまり賢い読み方ではなさそうですね。 受験英語の影響で文法的に説明がつかないと落ち着かないのですが この文に関して言えばmake for:寄与する、役に立つ であとに続く文のために役立つと言う訳で著者の意図した意味になると思いました。 naver be in need of anything = （トレジャラーの支給があるので）何も不足しない を 魔導師たちは最初から何も必要しない と誤訳していました。 wikipediaの記事ですが ＞主計科は軍隊の兵科の一つ。経理、被服、烹炊などを担当する。 が十字軍のtreasurerの意味に近そうですね。 単語一つでここまで深い意味があり調査が必要とは思いませんでした。いい勉強になりました。
