<第1文> Being happy while owning less---S means---V not comparing yourself to others---O who are materially better off.---M→others

There are certain things in life that are so obvious as to be beyond question. At the enjoyable end of the victory spectrum is the sheer excitement of crossing the ribbon first, coming top of the class or spraying champagne from the podium at the other end lies that depressing ache of being a straggler, an also-ran and, yes, a loser. But some people, it seems, are perfectly happy to be losers. Psychologists at the University of Michigan have discovered that while some people become stressed after losing out to a rival in a laboratory task, others become stressed out after Winning. The research challenges the widely held belief that the will to Win is a universal human desire. _ “This runs counter to the idea that everybody likes coming out at the top of the heap,” says Oliver Schultheiés, professor of psychology at the University of Michigan, who oversaw the study. "That’s a really surprising finding for us." Professor Schultheiss concludes that people can be split into wolves, who are utterly driven to win and devastated at losing out, and sheep, whose triumphs over others bring distress rather than heart-pumping joy. Lance Armstrong, the record-breaking Tour de France winner, is the embodiment of a wolf; Estelle Morris, who quit her position as Education Secretary because she did not feel up , could be suspected of ovine tendencies. How to separate the wolves from the sheep? Professor Schultheiss and his colleagues first used a test to assess the motivations of 108 college students. They were asked to look at various photographs _ such as a picture of two cyclists racing next to each other 4 and write a description of what they saw. The resulting script was used to deduce the participant’s “ implicit power motivation,” which is defined as a hidden desire to dominate others. ( A ) are more likely to have Written a scenario in which the cyclists were competing aggressively; ( B ) might have perceived a gentler relationship between the riders. Those with the highest scores - the greatést need to be top dog - were considered ( C ), and those at the low end were termed ( D ).

There is a celestial influence from planets and stars in your seventh house. When there is a planet in the seventh house, it brings a definite kind of fate to bare, the choice of love is much more destined and less free. A planet also means that you yourself possess, a particular look or character that will deeply attract only a certain kind of man, and not others. It is as if the picture of love is cut out for you. If you had no planet in the seventh house, it would be more difficult to find love and yet more freedom to fall in love too, more opportunity but perhaps less depth. This planet placement gives you, endurance, practicality, a feeling of the predestined, so that once you are involved with someone, even if its not the soul mate, you are able to “make do” with relationship, or to put up with a lot that others wouldn’t for the sake of love.

Some people wanted to know what kind of food their soul mate would or should eat. His likes and dislikes and what is good for him, his physical and emotional health. In some case this is more important than others, because some people are more closely effected by their food, while others neglect what they eat, and care little whether its well cooked or burned to hellish cinders..

Since Hideki Yukawa in 1949, a total of 16 Japanese nationals have been named recipients of Nobel Prizes. In 2010, when the most recent Japanese winners were announced to receive p rizes for chemistry, NHK interrupted its scheduled programming with a nyuusu sokuho (breaking news) announcement. On Sept. 29, Shiga University associate professor Makoto Imai and six colleagues marched onto the stage at Harvard’s Sanders Theater to receive a so-called Ig Nobel Prize for chemistry. The award was bestowed in recognition of “determining the ideal density of airborne wasabi (pungent horseradish) to awaken sleeping people in case of a fire or other emergency, and for applying this knowledge to invent the wasabi alarm.” The Ig Nobel Prizes date back to 1991, when Marc Abrahams, editor of a Harvard-based publication, The Annals of Improbable Research, organized an event to bestow recognition on scientists, inventors and others whose sometimes outrageously wacky research efforts “first make people laugh, and then make them think.”

LONDON(AP)ーJust try sugar-coating this:the World Health Organiz ation says your daily sugar intake should be just 5 percent of your total caloriesーhalf of what the agency previously recommended, according to new draft guidelines published earlier this month. After a review of about 9000studies,WHO's expert panel says dropping sugar intake to that level will combat obesity and cavities.Tha t includes sugars added to foods and those present in honey, syrups and fruit juices, but not those occurring naturally in fruits. Amerivans and others in the West eat a lot more sugar than that.Their average sugar in take would have to drop by two-thirds to meet WHO's suggested limit. Many doctors ap plauded the U.N. agency's attempt to limit th e global sweet tooth. "The less sugar you're eating, the better," sai d Dr. Robert Lustig, a professor of pediatrics at the University of California and author of a book about the dangers of sugar. "If the su gar threshold is lowered, I think breakfast ce real is going to have a really hard time justif ying its existence," he said, referring to swee tened cereals often targeted to children. Lustig said WHO's new guidelines could alte r the food environment by forcing manufact urers to rethink how they're using sugar in p rocessed foods like bread, soups, pasta sau ces and even salad dressings. He called the amount of sugar in processed food an "abso lute, unmitigated disaster." WHO's expert group found high sugar consu mption is strongly linked to obesity and toot h decay. It noted that heavy people have a hi gher risk of chronic diseases, responsible fo r more than 60 percent of global deaths. De ntal care costs up to 10 percent of health bu dgets in Western countries and cause signifi cant problems in the developing world. WHO warned many of the sugars eaten toda y are hidden in processed foods, pointing ou t that one tablespoon of ketchup contains a bout one teaspoon of sugar . There is no universally agreed consensus o n how much sugar is too much. The American Heart Association advises lim iting sugar to about 8 percent of your diet, or six teaspoons a day for women and nine for men. A study led by the U.S. Centers for Dise ase Control and Prevention published last m onth found too much sugar can raise the ch ances of fatal heart problems. Researchers f ound the average American gets about 15 p ercent of their calories from sugar, similar to other Western nations.

An Automated External Defibrillator is a simple to use device that uses computer technology to help a person whose heart has stopped heating. It analyzes the heart rhythm of a victim, and then advises the user whether a shock is required. AEDs are designed to be used by common people, who require little training to operate the devices correctly. AEDs are usually limited to just delivering shocks for VF(ventricular fibrillation) and VT(ventricular tachycardia) rhythms. There are 2 types of AEDs : Fully Automated and Semi Automated. Most AEDs are semi automated. A semi automated AED automatically diagnoses heart rhythms and determines if a shock is necessary. If a shock is advised, the person using the device must then push a button to give the shock. A fully automated AED automatically diagnoses the heart rhythm and advises the user to stand back while the shock is automatically given. Also, some types of AEDs come with advanced features, such as a manual override or an ECG display. In order to make them highly visible, public access AEDs are often brightly colored, and are mounted in protective cases near the entrance of buildings. When these protective cases are opened, and the defibrillator is removed, it might make an alarm sound to alert nearby staff that it has been removed. All trained AED operators should phone for an ambulance when sending for or using an AED. Because the patient will be unconscious, this always requires an ambulance to come.
