高校英語の質問です

Turning to the right ,you will find the bank you are looking for.のturningの所をto turnを答えに選んだんですがなぜいけないんでしょうか？To hear her talk, you would take her for a Japanese.だとTo から始まりますよね？

　Turning ... は分詞構文と言われる用法で、「右に曲がれば」「右に曲がると」という意味になります。To hear ... は独立不定詞と呼ばれる構文です。交換しても問題なく通じます。 　ただし、独立不定詞の方は、熟語のような紹介がされることが多いですので、採点者によれば減点対象になる恐れがあります。To tll the truth 「本当のことを言えば…」 To be frank with you 「率直に言えば…」 Needless to say 「言うまでもないことだが」のような語句がよく文法書にあります。

これは、If you turn to the right,～と同じ意味の動名詞構文ですね。「右に曲がれば、お探しの銀行が見つかりますよ」という意味になります。To turn to the rightでは、「右に曲がるためには」という意味になり、後ろとつながりません。 もし、「右に曲がるためには、まず右側に自動車の交通がないことを確認しましょう。」という文章であれば、To turn to the rightで始めてOKです。
