「～したい」と訳さないwant toの使用法

質問

When you get down to B kevel, you want to take another left という台詞があります。
（ナイトミュージアム２より）
この場合のYou want to のニュアンスは分かるのですが、どういう場合にこの言い方をするのかがいまいち分かりません。
まず、You might want to be quiet here. とか、You don't want to taste this. というような文を聞いたり見たりしたことがあるのですが、実際自分では使ったことがないのです。
どういう間柄ならこの言い方がＯＫなのか、また「～してね。」とか「～しないほうがいいよ。」という意味でいいのか、なんとなくつかめずにいます。

具体例とか、実際に使用されている方のお話を伺いたいです。

本来なら、「～しな（よ）」と命令・指示を表すのには動詞の原型から文を始める命令形が使われます。

それをやわらげるのに、ビジネスタッチで使われるのがshouldを使った表現になります。
例えば、看護婦が患者に次の来診の時での検査のために、痛み止めを2時間前までに飲むことを指示するとします。
Take those pain killers 2hours before the procedure. のところを
You should take those pain killers....と表現。

want to, may want toはこれより更に柔らかい指示、あるいは勧めの程度まで弱めるのに使うことができます。
よく見られるのは、ある会社や団体などが利用者に指示を出すような場合です。

（購読の継続ありがとうございます。新刊の方も是非ご覧下さい。）
あるいは、友達同士の間でも事実上の指示・提案を強い表現を避けておすすめ的に伝えるのにもよく使われます。
例えば、
You may want to use some yogurt the next time you make curry.
（次にカレー作るとき、ヨーグルト入れてみてもいいかもよ。）

などという具合です。
