化学論文で困ってます！訳せない箇所を教えてください。
- ある化学論文を訳しているのですが、二箇所どうしてもうまく訳せず困っています。
- 1つ目は、concentrations working stockの適当な訳がみつからず困っています。
- 二つ目はdilution-induced variability in the preparation of chlorine dioxide working stockの訳をどうしたらいいかわかりません。

ある化学論文を訳しているのですが、二箇所どうしてもうまく訳せず困っています。 1つ目は、 1）The concentrations of chlorine dioxide working stocks maintained at 4°C were stable for 10 min. 二つ目は、 2)Direct comparison of 99.9% inactivation times at specific ozone and chlorine versus chlorine dioxide concentrations was complicated by the dilution-induced variability in the preparation of chlorine dioxide working stocks. 1)についてはconcentrations working stockの適当な訳がみつからず困っています。特にworking stockは作業用ストックと 訳してみたのですがなんかしっくりいきません。なにか他の文章はないでしょうか？ 二つ目は以下のとおりです。 2）についてはdilution-induced variability in the preparation of chlorine dioxide working stockの訳をどうしたらいいかわかりません。そもそもworking stockが訳せていないので無理もあたりまえなんですが。 今日中にどなたかいい訳文を考えていただけませんか？ よろしくお願いいたします。

この場合の化学用語としてのstockはstock solutionの意味で使われています。 Sock solutionの業界訳はストック溶液で、意味はある化学物質をある(a)溶媒に 所定（規定）の量だけ溶かした液です。試薬の様に容器に保存されています。 実験ではこの溶液をその(the)溶媒でさらに希釈してwork stock solution 作業溶液 として使います。Work stockやworking stock も使われますがsolutionが省略されていると 考えてよいでしょう。 この点を考慮して１）を訳せば、 「４℃に保持された二酸化塩素作業溶液の濃度は１０分間安定であった。」 これは二酸化塩素が不安定で解離し易いために、１０分間はその恐れが無いよと言う ことを主張していると思われます。 ２）は（二酸化塩素が不安定なことを考慮すれば） 「特定のオゾンと塩素に対する二酸化塩素濃度での99.9%不活性化時間の直接比較は 二酸化塩素作業溶液調整時の希釈に起因する変動のために困難だった。」 となります。 化学は苦手な物理化学屋ですので、注意して参考にしてください。

＃3ですが、もしもこの話が殺菌剤としての実験の話だとしたら、ウィルスの株をstock で表しているのでは？それに作用させるという動詞がwork で、chlorine dioxide working stocksで「ウィルス株に作用させる二酸化塩素」ということにはならないでしょうか。

working stock に「通常在庫」という意味があるようですが http://eow.alc.co.jp/working+stock/UTF-8/ これでは意味が通りませんでしょうか。 The concentrations of chlorine dioxide working stocks maintained at 4°C were stable for 10 min. 「4度に保たれた通常在庫の二酸化塩素の濃度は、10分間安定していた」意味不明でしょうかね。 the dilution-induced variability in the preparation of chlorine dioxide working stocks. 「通常在庫の二酸化塩素の調整時に希釈により引き起こされるばらつき」 科学的な話は分かりませんがド素人のイメージとしては、溶液を準備している際に揮発などによって成分が薄まってしまうのかなあという感じですが、はずしていたらすみません。

確かに通常在庫ともいうし作業在庫ともいうし在庫という言葉を使った例は多いのですが、 この文面で在庫というのはかみあわないと判断していて、だから、作業用ストックとしたときも すんなりしなくて困っていました。 だからこの言葉は申し訳ないですが使わないです。 それ以外は他の方と同じ意味なのでぜひとも参考にさせていただきます。 ２）についてもそのとおりだと思います。希釈している最中に揮発してしまうために 濃度を比較するのが難しいという意味だと思います。 これも他の方と同様に参考にさせていただきます。 ありがとうポイントがつかないのに答えてくださって 本当にありがとうございます。

元の論文を示さずに質問とは・・・・従ってあやふや １． The concentrations of chlorine dioxide working stocks maintained at 4°C were stable for 10 min. ４℃に保たれた二酸化塩素「殺菌物」の濃度が安定していたのは１０分間だった。 ヤフーで調べると二酸化塩素は家庭での消毒に使われているようです。 stock=物、livestock 生きている物、つまり牛とか馬 deadstock 生きていない物、 つまり鍬など 生活に密着した物なので意味が限定される。 working とは言葉通りに（与えられた）仕事をしている・・・・ この場合には「消毒という大切なお役目を果たしている」・・・・ どうやら、家庭向けに販売する新しいタイプの殺菌剤の開発についての論文のようですね。 すると、まだ製品化前の段階ですから、「殺菌物」とでもしておけば無難でしょう。 ２． dilution-induced variability in the preparation of chlorine dioxide working stock 二酸化塩素殺菌物を準備する段階での希釈に起因する変動により、 どうやら殺菌剤の開発段階で、二酸化塩素の安定性がネックになっているようですね。 でも、論文の後ろでこれらの問題を全て解決したとあるのでしょう。

ありがとうございます。 確かに殺菌物というかんがえ方もありかもしれないですが、 他の文章とあわせると（ウイルスの減少を実験する論文です）ちょっと かみあわないのでこれは使えません。 しかし、やっぱり、１）のは濃度が10分しかもたなかったという意味だったんだと 合点がいきました。 それが大きな収穫でした。 ２）については先程に答えて下さった方とほぼ同じ意味なので、使わせていただきます。 ありがとうポイントがつかないのに答えてくださって 本当に感謝しております。

１）４℃に保った二酸化塩素溶液の作業用試薬を１０分間置いて安定化させた。 ＃溶液は濃厚液、濃縮液かもしれません。コンテキストで判断できるはずです。 ２）dilution-induced variability in the preparation of chlorine dioxide working stock 二酸化塩素作業用試薬の調整での希釈によるばらつき ＃前後がないので全文訳が私の力ではできません。ご質問の部分は多分二酸化塩素の濃厚液を希釈して使用するのでその希釈によるばらつきを言っています。（いわゆるファクターにつながるばらつきですね）全体は、それがあるのでデータの扱いがすっきりとできないことを説明する文に見えます。

ありがとうございます。 作業用試薬ですか。 そうなんですよ。試薬原液みたいな言葉をさがしていたのでこれでもいいかなと思っています。 ストックというとなんか違うような気がして困っていました。 2番目の質問も意味はわかっているのにどうやって書いたら良いか困っていました。 ちょっとこれで改めて文章を書き直してみます。 本当はConcentrationsの意味も知りたかったのですが。 なにはともあれ非常に参考になりました。 ありがとうポイントさしあげられなくて（ゼロなので、どうやってためたらいいのかもわからない） 申しわけありません。 そんな中で答えてくださって本当に感謝しています。

論文でどうしてもわからない文章があります。助けてください！ Spectra were measured on a PerkinElmerR Spectrum. GX FT-IR spectrometer using a ZnSe horizontal ATR accessory, co-adding 32 interferograms (for a measurement time of two minutes). The Spectrum 100 or 400 instruments and the 9-bounce diamond ATR accessory would be equally suitable for this application. Due to the overlapping bands and the presence of unidentified components, PLS calibrations were used in preference to univariate regression. The calibration models were built using Spectrum QuAnT+ software. The full spectral range was used, with no pre-processing of the data apart from mean centering.
