またお会いしたいです、という英文メールでの表現について解釈を教えてください。 知り合いになった方から、 I hope we can meet up sometimes again! I hope we can meet up again soon! というメールをいただいた場合、 また会いたいね、そのうちお会いしたいです、という挨拶程度のものと解釈して良いでしょうか? I really look forward to seeing you again! これだと、もうちょっと積極的に、また会いたいという気持ちを表現しているように 解釈できるのですが、 ネイティヴさんの書き方の違いがわからず、どの程度、受け流していいものか迷います。 最初は soonと書いてあると、えっ? すぐに会いたいのかなと解釈してしまったのですが むしろsoonと書いてなければ、いつか会おうね～的ご挨拶のようだし......。 また返信の仕方ですが、 具体的に何時いつ会おうと書いていなければ、 こちらも似たように返しておけば良いのでしょうか? I hope we can meet up sometimes again! と書いてあれば、 こちらも同じように書いて返す,、というような。 よろしくお願いします。

またお会いしたいです、という英文メールでの表現について解釈を教えてください。 以前こちらで I hope we can meet up sometimes again! I hope we can meet up again soon! という表現は社交辞令か? という質問をした際、 社交辞令としてよく使われる表現で、日本なら箒を逆さにしている時でも使うという回答を得て、 友人に上記表現で誘われても、 軽い社交辞令と受け流しているうちに、誘われなくなり、 かなり疎遠になってきています。 社交辞令じゃなかったのか? このあたりのマナーがよくわかりません。 社交辞令でなく、相手が本当に「会いたいんだけど」と思って書いているのに こちらが社交辞令と流してしまうのは人間関係に支障をきたすので どんな風に解釈したら良いか教えてもらえませんか? たとえば日本人同士なら「今度会わない?」と誘って、相手の返信がそのことに触れなかったら 次のメールで「じゃあ、○月○日に会おうよ」と具体的な段取りには進みませんよね。 大抵「今度会わない?」「うん、会いたいね」「じゃあ何時いつ・・・」と話が進みますよね。 1) 誘っている相手の本気度はどれくらいか? 何か理解のコツ、ヒントみたいなものがあれば教えてください。 たとえば、 I hope we can meet up again!/I look forward to seeing you again! といった表現が続けて二度以上あった場合は社交辞令じゃないとか。 2) 対応の仕方について。もしこちらが円滑な人間関係を望んでいるなら I hope we can meet up again! と、一度でも書いてあったら (それがたとえ社交辞令かなと感じられても) I hope we can meet up again too!とかI will be happy to meet up with you とか 相手の言葉に呼応する一文を入れておいたほうが良いのでしょうか。 結果、それで具体的に誘ってきたら「ああ本当に会いたかったんだな」と解釈すればいいのかな・・・。 もしろん一括りに外国人と言っても、たとえばオーバーアクションなアメリカ人と知的なイギリス人では、言葉のパンチ度は違うと思うし、性格の差もあると思うのですが。 このあたりの皆さんの経験を教えていただけると幸いです。 よろしくお願いします。
