次のビジネス英語の違いを教えてください。

私はビジネス英語はまだ初心者です.次の文の違いがわかりません。 (a) He is knowledgeable in marketing and research. (b) He is knowledgeable in marketing research. (a)のmarketing and researchと(b)のmarketing　researchにはどのような違いがあるのでしょうか。（a)のようにandが入ると、それは marketing researchとは違うと聞いているのですが、そうすると、marketing　and　researchの場合のresearchとmarketing researchのresearchは仕事内容がどう異なるのか見当もつきません。ぜひビジネス英語のわかる方、教えてください。ご協力お願い致します。

b)はマーケティングリサーチ、いわゆる市場調査に関しての知識が豊富だ、とのことです。 またa）はマーケティングとリサーチ（調査全般）の知識が豊富ということです。 違いで言えばResearchというとより幅の広い意味合いだと思います。例えばMarketing　Research だと消費傾向、競合分析等の市場調査を差しますがResearchというと新商品の開発のための研究だとか、そういう直接市場とは関係の無いものもさします。
