Noa was shopping around to film industry players a movie with footage of the couple in sexual situations. 上記の英文ですが、 Noa was shopping around ノアは買いあさっていた。 to film industry players 業界人を撮影するために a movie with footage of the couple in sexual situations. 性的な状況にあるカップルの映像を伴ったムービー。 直訳するとそれぞれこんな感じですが、どうもplayers と a movieが何のルールでつながっているのかがわかりません・・・・。 関係代名詞とも思えないし・・・・。 そもそも意味が通らないです・・・。 解説をお願いいたします。

"shop around"には「物色する」、「検討する」という意味もあります。「買い物のために見て廻る」だけではありません。 "film industry players"は「映画関係者」と考えれば簡単です。 "a movie with footage of the couple in sexual situations"は「Ojani NoaとJ.Loのベッドシーン」です。 「Noaは、自分と前妻のXXXフィルムを映画関係者に売りさばこうと目論んでいた」

No.1 & 2です。 質問者がやっていることは意味がありません。私は「意訳」だと申し上げています。 "Good morning."を「お早う」と訳すのも意訳です。これを再び英語に訳そうとすると"It's early."になります。これに対し「いい朝」という意味にならないじゃないかと云われても困ります。意訳というものは意味を考えて、より現地の言葉（原文が英語なら日本語）として理解し易い表現に置き換える作業です。 何度も英語→日本語→英語→日本語と翻訳を繰り返して行けば想像も出来なかったような文章になるのは当然です。 「意味が通らない」という御質問にはお答えしたつもりですので、私はこれで手を引きます。

説明ありがとうございます。もう一つだけ質問があります。 ホントアホですいません・・・。 どうしても理解ができないです。 というのは、もし映画関係者に売りさばこうと目論んでいるという訳ならば、 Noa was shopping around to film industry players to sell a movie with footage of the couple in sexual situations. となると思うのですが、どうしても自分が訳に取り掛かったとき、一つ単語が少ない気がするのです。 ・・・・やはり足りない。 ノアは映画関係者を物色していた。と 自分と前妻のXXXフィルム、をつなげる一言をその英文から見出すことができないです。売るという言葉は意訳だとして、その場合その売るという言葉が出てきた元を知りたいというか・・・。 変な質問ですいません。

物色や目論む、（企てるでも企むでも考えるでもいいですが）その単語自体に売るという概念はなく、なので、映画関係者を物色していた→何のために？となってしまうのです・・・。
