How do dogs get brought up before they start their carrier? I wonder how the guide dog is brought up? など、完璧ではなくとも、短い分かりやすい表現も好まれると思います。会話ですから、一文で完全な会話をする必要はないはずですし。 実際の会話でも、単文が多いですよね。映画なら別ですけど。

Some of them are about how dogs help or even save their masters, some of them are about how dogs travel great distances to find their families. One of the nicest stories is about John, a small black and white dog with big ears who lived in America. One August, John's family, the Bensons, went on holiday to California and, of course, took John with them. While they were on holiday, John got lost. The family spent the rest of their holiday looking for him but without success. At the end of their holiday, they sadly went back home to New York. Before they left, they put photographs of John in all the shop windows in the area. During the next six months John crossed the whole of America to find his family in New York. He walked over 2,000 miles or maybe he hid on trains and buses. Nobody knows how he did it. When John got to the Bensons' house, it was in the middle of winter and the family was away visiting some friends. The window of their neighbor's car was open, so John jumped in and went to sleep. That night, it snowed and snowed and it continued snowing for a week. ・ I like dog. とすると「私は、犬肉が好きだ」という表現になり、単純に犬が好きだと伝えたいのなら「I like dogs.」にするのだと知りました。 そこで、参考書「わかりやすい英語冠詞講義」P54によると、 「犬の肉を食べる」と表現するならば可算名詞にするか、dog meatと言う必要があると言及されています。 なので、 ・ How could they eat a dog ? の文が適しているとの事です。 また、・ How could they eat dog ? は非文法的であると書いてあります。 そこで質問なのですが、 上記のHow～文は、「どうして犬なんか食べられるんだ」という意味なのですが、ここでの犬に対するイメージというのは、大げさに犬一匹をイメージして言及する文だから、可算名詞にしてるのではないでしょうか？ また、「I like dog.」が犬肉と表現されているのなら、非文法的であるとされる「How could they eat dog ?」も間違いではないような気がするのですが、どうなんでしょうか？ 皆様のアドバイスをお聞きしたいと思います。 よろしくお願いいたします。

I would like to discuss the differences between day schools and bording schools. This essay will demonstrate how much bording schools take some of the advantes. First, boring schools can develop their independence. In day schools students leanr as they are said from parents or their teachers. However, in boading schools asigh each of them what they have to do in their dairy life, and they have to cooperate with each other and live their life. Separating from parents, they can gain a agreat deal of things . Second, Certainly, the time spending their dairy life with parents may reduce more than day schools, but to obtain and learn their responsibilitise is one of the greatest thing.. If they don't have their responsibility, they won't obtain the independence. Third, if you live in thier house with parents and talk to them, they can learn how they get money and what the life is. However, there is no oppotunity and possibility of thinking those things on their own. Spending their time except for parents, they can realize that they need social skills before they work in the world. つい最近の英語の質問(http://odn.okweb.ne.jp/kotaeru.php3?q=526803)に“How long do you live in Japan?”に関しての質問があったのですが、回答に＜How long do you...とやると、「これからどれくらいいるつもりですか？」にも聞こえる可能性があります＞とありました。私はこの“How long do you live in Japan?”がおかしいのは分かるのですが、回答の意味がちょっと分かりません。 回答者さんがおかしいとかではなくて、私が無知なため分からないのです。では、“How long will you stay in Japan?”とはどう違うのでしょうか？私が想像するに“How long do you live in Japan?”は日常では(時制のことなどから)まず使うことのない文なんでしょうか？どなたか教えていただけないでしょうか？

さっそくのご回答、ありがとうございます。 そうおっしゃっていただき安心いたしました。 英語を口にすることがほとんどない環境なので、どうしても自分のは「まず日本語→英語訳」という感じになってしまいます。wathavy様のようにstart working、get brought up、I wonderはなかなか浮かびませんし、読んでいてすごくしっくり来ました。 あと、そうですね、guide dogsの間違いです。 助かりました、誠にありがとうございました。
