confining effectとは

sepiolite exerts hardly confining effects on the crystallization of naylon-6 という論文の１文があるのですが、 化学でいうconfining effects 拘束効果とはどのようなものなのでしょうか。 よろしくお願い致します。

sepiolite 海泡石粉末を nylon 6に混ぜて結晶化挙動を観察したときに、 結晶化の抑制confind(ing)は見られなかったという意味では無いでしょうか。 したがって、訳は 海泡石はナイロン６の結晶化に対し抑制（拘束）効果をほとんど及ぼさなかった ということになるかと思います。 しかし、海泡石をナイロンにコンパウンドする効能は何なのですか？
