make their own career dicisions. Young Americans are encouraged by their families to make their own career decisions.

I think people who have to make big statements with house are people who may not have the creative kind of jobs where they make big creative statements in other areas of their life. The creativity that goes on here is, I think, spiritual as well. And emotional. Because everybody here does their own thing. Our guests do their own thing, our kids do their own things and I think we all come here in order to pursue what we love best in our spare time and that's what makes it such an unusual home for us.

At their first feast, the Pilgrims had many reasons to be thankful. They had left England and crossed the ocean safely. They had built a new home in America. Here, the Pilgrims could pray in their own way. Here, some of them would own farms for the first time. The barrel would hold two gallons of water.

Americans who are in important positions would not make a big fuss about where they sit in a car for another reason. Americans strongly believe in equality as an ideal. Someone who is of high statues is expected to minimize his own importance. The people around him are also expected not to make too much of a fuss over him. An important person who is nice to the "little guy" is respected.

Popular culture focuses on flying cars’ glittering image and carefully sidesteps their complex realities. It treats them as the highest of high technology, symbols of technology’s power to improve everyday life. Unlike other symbols of the high-tech future―robots, smart houses, and intelligent computers―flying cars are never shown breaking down, much less developing malevolent agendas of their own. They are as reliable and easy to use as a telephone or refrigerator is in our world and, in stories set in the future, as familiar and unremarkable to their users. sidesteps (問題などを)避ける smart houses スマートハウス flying cars are never shown breaking down, much less developing malevolent agendas of their own 空飛ぶ車は故障している状態や、ましてそれ自体悪意を持ってしまうように描かれることはまずない ご協力お願いします

We have looked at the way we project human qualities onto both inanimate objects and animals. But, we also project gender. The title is part of a well-known ritual whereby a ship is launched and blessed. Bu why is it not: “God bless it, and all who sail in it”? Or even: “God bless him, and all who sail in him”? Some commentators (for example, Spender. 1980) have suggested that cars, as well as boats, are seen as female because they are objects of status that have traditionally been under the control of men. Certainly, the physical attractiveness of such objects is often at the forefront of descriptions, in the same way as women are often described in terms of their looks. For example, here is an extract from a news report on the de-commissioning of the Royal Yacht Britannia: “a ship which has given good faithful service for 44 years, and which is still as elegant now as when she was commissioned…..” (Radio 4 News, 12 noon, 10/12/97)

Or perhaps we should say rather that the dichotomy between primitive and revealed religions is false, for there is a sense in which all religious are religions of revelation; the world around them and their reason have everywhere revealed to people something of the divine, of their own nature and destiny.
