I hope the rain holds on until the parade is over. のholds onが間違っているらしいのですが、どうしてですか。willが必要なのですか。 onがいらないのですか。 Look at that group of boys over there, what are they doing? のover thereのところが間違っているらしいのですが、どうしてでしょうか。 How I wish I had studied harder for my mid-term exams? のmy mid-term exams?は、?がいらないということでしょうか。 In the depth of the ocean lie adventure and wonder for most divers. のlieが違うらしいのですが、これまたどうしてでしょうか。

1. 「雨が降らない」ですから、holds off でしょう。 2. over there は副詞なので名詞を修飾できません。たとえば  You can see him over there. は、over there が him を修飾しているように見えますが、文法的には see を修飾していて「向こうに見える」です。 ですから「あそこの少年たち」は、形容詞としての there を使って boys there でいいのではないでしょうか。 3. How I wish は感嘆文ですから、末尾は「?」でなく「!」ですね。 4. No.1さまの回答でいいと思います。

ずいぶん難しい問題ですね。何にあったものですか? >I hope the rain holds on until the parade is over. 「パレードが終わるまで天気がもってほしな」ですから、rain の代わりにweatherがくればいいのでは? >Look at that group of boys over there, what are they doing? のover thereのところが間違っているらしいのですが、どうしてでしょうか。 これはどこが間違えか、分かりません。that group of boys のようにthat がgroupを修飾することはよくありますし、look at AAA over there と言う表現もよく見るものです。 googleのbook検索でも、 "look at * over there" の検索結果 461 件 のようにかなり多く同様の表現が見つかります。 ひょっとしたら正しい文ではないかと思います。 もしかしたら、カンマで区切っていることが違うと言うことかも知れませんね。 >How I wish I had studied harder for my mid-term exams? wishとhad studiedと言う時制の組み合わせが不自然だと言うことではないでしょうか? >In the depth of the ocean lie adventure and wonder for most divers. adventure and wonder を全体で単数として扱って、lies とするようですね。
