tootonさん、たびたびありがとうございます。 ブラウン上司より、ある文書を作成して客先に送るようにと指示されたのですが、上司が不在のため スミスさんに代理でサインしてもらうように、ということなのです。 スミスさんもある程度、事情をご存知かと思いますので、この際他部署にいるスミスさんまで聞きにいってみようと思います。
