hat　に s　がつく理由がわかりません。

OPの方はもう諦められてるかもしれませんが（w）気になっので辞書(Webster's)で調べてみました。１から６の文章は辞書からですが着いているコメントとその下にある例文は違います。

1. one, no matter which, of more than two [any pupill may answer]

特別に複数形を指定*しない限り単数。

*I need three hats. Any three (hats) would do.

2. some, no matter how much or how little, how many or what kind [he can't tolerate any criticism]

これはsomeですから複数形なのかもしれないですが”no matter how much or how little, how many or what kind”は「全て、どんな物でも形でも」ですので単数の方が合っていると感じます:

“the Court would no longer tolerate any mistake in the payment of the full amount..."

3. without limit [entitled to any number of admissions]

これは制限がない事から単数でしょう。

4. even one; the least amount or number of [I haven't any dimes]

これが最初の質問に触れている点ですね。一つでさえ、と言いたい時は複数形です。

"I don’t have any cigarettes and it’s killing me. "

5. every [any child can do it]

単数。

Any mother would have done the same.

6. of considerabel size or extent [we won't be able to travel any distance]

この使い方はあまり自分ではしないので確かではないですがsize or extentですので単数。

ここまで考えると混乱してくるので”don't have any"の後にはよほどの事がない限り複数形と覚えているのが無難でしょうね。
