こんばんは。本日、英語の問題（高校レベル）を解いていたのですが、 どうしても分からない問題が2つあるのです。 その問題は以下のとおりです。 各英文で、括弧のうち一つを訂正箇所として選ぶ問題形式となっています。 (1)It (is) desirable (that) everybody in our department (takes) (part) in the volunteer work. (2)He gained (a lot of) (weight) (during) he was (on) vacation in Europe. (1)に関してはpartを複数形にするのかと思ったのですが、 take part inの成句の意味を考えて、複数形にするのはおかしいのではないかと考え、結局答えが分かりませんでした。 また、(2)については、悩んだのですが、間違ている箇所が全く分かりませんでした。 英文としては難しくないので、私がどこか基本的なところを勘違いしているか、理解不十分であるのだろうと思っています。 どなたか、教えていただけると幸いです。

Through social communication our culture teaches us both the symbol (be it a sound or written marks) and what that symbol stands for. 上記の英文で、括弧内の部分の構文が理解できません。 意味は「それが音であれ書かれた文字であれ」ということだと思うのですが、<if の省略の倒置＞？かとも考えましたが、その場合はhad とか wereで始まるはずですよね？ 何故これが原型で、倒置の形になっているのか、お教えください。

長文なのですが、英文の和訳の確認をお願いします。アドバイスをいれて下さると、泣いてよろこびます。 英文→「Ａt the very moment wa are living our mundane every lives, time in another dimension is flowing slowly and steadily onward. Ｗhether or not wa feel this other time in some corner of our hearts makes all the differrence.」 和訳→「私達がありふれた時間を生きるときはとても短く、他の時間の次元ではゆっくりと着々と前に進んでいます。私達がいくつかの曲がり角の他の時間を感じようがなかろうが、私達の心はすべての違いを作るのです。」 自分で訳していても意味不明になってしまうのですが・・・。「whether ＡorＢ 」で、「～であろうが、なかろうが」だと辞書に書いてあったのですが、この英文の場合だと「Ａ」にあたる部分がありませんよね？？あと、何回も出てくる「time」はそのまま「時間」と訳していいのでしょうか？？回答をよろしくお願いします！！

すいません。今度アメリカからあるものを輸入したいのですが、かなり重く、800kg程度 ありまして船便を考えています。また熱におそらく強くないため冷蔵コンテナ（ Reefer Container/Refrigerated Container）送って欲しいと相手にお願いしました。それで相手から船便での見積もりが来たのですが どうも内容からは冷蔵コンテナか通常コンテナなのかはっきりしません。 また抜粋ですが下記のコメントが書いてありました。 なんとなく読めるのは、「熱に関しての懸念について、私は１５年間この仕事をしているがそのような 問題は経験した事がない。 A（商品名）をB国から仕入れ、到着するまで冷蔵などの保冷は行っておらず、小分けされるまで非冷蔵です。 （以上のように読み取れるのですがACというのがなんなのか全くわかりません。もしACが冷蔵の 意の場合、私たちは温度管理した冷蔵で仕入れていないが、いままで問題は経験した事がなく、今回も問題ないだろう。だから冷蔵コンテナではない通常のコンテナで送る・・・という意味でしょうか？） Regarding your concern regarding heat during transit. When A arrive they sit in the non AC side, until they are ready to be dispensed at which time we bring them over to the AC side. We don't believe heat will be a factor in this case.
