前段で著者がとのように "thought systems" を定義しているのか分からないので適切な訳は難しいですが、普通に考えれば 「思考システム」で良いのでは？ 特にある程度学術的（科学的）に書かれた本であればシステムという言葉は日本語でも最近はよく使われると思います。 例文も 我々が頑固な思考システムの性質を理解する時、我々は他の人たちが我々と同じように物を見ないだろうと予想する。少し意訳して→ （人の）思考システムが根本的に融通の利かないものであるであることが分かると、他人が自分と同じような考えをするとは思わなくなる。

system は堅く訳せば「作用する方法」，思い切ってやわらかくすると「仕組み」でいいのではないでしょうか。 「（人が物事を）考える仕組みの扱いにくい性質を理解すると，他の人が自分と同じようには考えていないと予想できるでしょう」

最近英語がそのまま使われることが多いように思います。「システム」もそのひとつでしょうか。私の場合そういう英語の中には、わかっているようで実際は明確に理解できていないものが多いのです。 参考にさせていただきます。 ご回答ありがとうございました。

「systems」は「システム」で良いかと思います。もう外来語になっておりますので。 「thought」は「思考」とするのが自然な気がします。文脈によっては「概念」と成りえますし、「思慮」もあり得ます。 ただ、「思考システム」とするのが一番無難かつ自然な気がします。 で、これ全文訳すんでしたっけ？念のため全文訳しておくと以下の通りです。 「思考システムの頑固な性質を理解していると（理解するとき）、私たちは、私たち以外の人間が、私たちと同じように物事を見ないと予想するでしょう。」 文脈によってもう少し具体的に訳せると思います。ご参考まで。
