She can finish the project one week after the deadline,( )later than that. A.in spite of B.though C.however D.but not 答えD 解説に譲歩という言葉が出てきましたが、調べてもいまいち理解できません。 上記問題はどのように解くか、教えてください。

文法的にはうまく説明できないのですが、最後の　that は　one week after the deadline という期日を指しています。ですから　答えは当然Dになるでしょう。解説の譲歩というのは、どの選択肢も譲歩的なのであまり意味が無いですね。 Aは次に名詞が、D,Bは次に文がくるべきなので残るのがDと考えても良いかもしれませｎ。 慣れてくると見たとたんに分かります。

that の指すところはなんであるのかわかりませんけど、少なくとも二度同じ事をいう意味はないので、the dead lineではないと推測できます。 そうしますと、A～Cは the dead line も超えるし、that も超えるという話でちょっと文として意味が？？です。 Dは the dead line は超えるけど that は超えないという意味で話が通じます。 つまりそれが譲歩ということではないかと。thatは超えずに仕事できますよ！どうですか！と。
