どういう意味？

推薦状を頼まれました。しかし、チェック要項の一つが理解できません。お分かりなら意味を教えてください。 Please check if this letter may not be used by the Graduate School if the student registers

その推薦状が大学院で使われてもいいかどうかを尋ねてます。(多分大学入学の推薦状？）その学生が引き続き大学院に進む場合に、同じ推薦状をそのまま再度使っていいかどうかではないでしょうか？使って欲しくない場合はチェックします。
