The task is to do as much as we can and to accept what comes after that to acknowledge both the efforts of free will, and the ultimate decisions of fate. and to acknowledge とandで繋ぐなら分かるのですが。

The task is to do ・・・ and to accept ・・・. The taskの補語になっているのは、to doとto accept だけです。 to accept以下を見てみると accept what ・・・ to acknowledge both the efforts and the decisions.となっており、 what comes after thatがacceptの目的語、to acknowledge・・・は不定詞で、to accept以下の部分で副詞句として機能しています。 to acknowledge以下は修飾語を取り去ると to acknowledge both the efforts and the decisionsです。 The task is to do (as much as we can) and to accept what・・・ to acknowledge both the efforts of free will and the ultimate decisions of fate.

内容として、"the efforts of free will" は "to do as much as we can" に、 "the ultimate decisions of fate" は "to accept what comes after that" に対応しているようです。

The phenomenon of intetest is in itself a most interesting subject . It is not too much to say that a man's interests are a sure guide to the real man. We certainly act on that assumption when we choose our friends. It is just as reasonable to suppose that what a culture defines as interesting is no less a guide to its own values, goals and self consciousness. という英文で、it is just as reasonable to suppose that …のところのasが前文の内容が比較対照が明らかなので、省略されているらしのですが、これは it is just as reasonable to suppose that what a culture defines as interesting is no less a guide to its own values, goals and self consciousness as it is just as reasonable to say that a man ' s intetests are a sure guide to the real man ということでいいのでしょうか?あとhe is rich and you are just as rich[as he is]のようにto say that a man ' s intetests are a sure guide to the real man をthatとし、it is just as reasonable to suppose that …as that isのように書き換えられるのでしょうか?

Fate is easier to understand if you envisage this man as being like a tower in the distance. At first the road is blank, then as you walk down it the man will loom up and appear at a certain time, and your destiny becomes entangled with his very gradually. Your two histories become one path as you move on nearer through time to the critical point of change or decision. There comes a point which is difficult to determine exactly, it can be early in the relationship or it can come after years together but it can be regarded as a kind of junction in fate.

When designing Congress, what kind of representation did the small states want? What kind did the big states want? As the country developed a stronger sense of national identity after the Civil War, and as claims of corruption in the selection of Senators grew, the demand for direct election of Senators grew. This was finally achieved with the 17th amendment in 1913. A minority of people still argue that this amendment was a mistake, and that an important check on the federal government was lost when the state legislatures’ representation in Congress was eliminated. But even though the state legislatures are no longer directly represented in the Senate, each state still has equal representation, and are so are still represented as distinct political bodies: Wyoming’s less than 600,000 people and California’s 40 million people have the same voice. Some people argue that this is undemocratic, and see the Senate as illegitimate, while others see it as important to ensure the small states are not dominated by a handful of big states.
