英文記事の英語で分からないところ
英文の記事で分からない箇所があります。 １．"A movie distributor, A company, will put out 10 movies a year with 5 aquisitions." 「with 5 aquisitions」が分かりません。一応「映画配給会社Ａ社は年間5本の映画を買収し、10本の映画を公開する。」と和訳しましたが、正しいでしょうか？ ２．B company helped A company to assemble $420 million dollars in equity to help finance films like "XXX". 「in equity」をどう和訳していいのか分かりません。 以上、ご回答いただければ幸いです。よろしくお願いします。

1. 「映画配給会社Ａ社は、年間5本の映画を買収し、10本の映画を公開する。」で良いと思います。 私は、5本が「acquisition＝よその制作会社から買ったもの」で、残りの5本は「自前で製作したもの」ではないかと想像しました。 2. equityは、debt(負債)の対義語としての「資本」ではないかと思いました。 つまり、A社は420万ドルを借金したのではなく、増資をすることによって420万ドル集めたのだと思います。

映画の製作と配給の仕組みが充分飲み込めていないので、イマイチ自信が持てないのですが、理解した範囲で回答します。 "A movie distributor"とはParamountとかWarnerBrosとかが業界の最大手だという理解で話を進めます。これが間違いだと、とんだお笑いですが・・・。 2.はd-yさんと同意見です。 1.については 記事のコンテクスト次第という部分は残ります。 "put out"は「製作」という点でも、d-yさんと同意見です。 "with"をどう取るかですが、これが難しいところです。 "She filled the jug up with cream." Cambridge Advance Lerner's Dictionary "My books, with my brother's, make a sizable library." American Heritage Dictionary つまり、"with"には"inclusive"という意味も"and"という意味もあります。 結論として、ここだけ、d-yさんと解釈が岐れました。あくまで感じですが、１０本を"put out"とする方がすっきりするからです。 そうすると、訳はこうなります。 「映画会社・A社は年間１０本の映画を製作し、年間５本の映画(の配給権)を買い取る」

隊長！２についてはNo.1がお答えになってるとおりだと思われます！しかし１については、映画配給システムがわからないのでなんとも言えません！ 仮に、映画配給会社が『映画製作会社からの売り込み』と『映画製作会社からの買収』によって成り立っているとするならば、5 acquisitionsはこの『買収』によって公開権利を得られたものであると思われます。そして残りの５本は『製作会社からの売り込み』と考えれば辻褄が合うのではないでしょうか！ 以上、自信はありませんが報告終わります！

１） 答える前にaquisitionsにはどこかに“c”が必要ですよね？ aｃquisitionは“掘り出し物”なので、「５つの掘り出し物と」となるのでは、と思います。 ２） この文を見る限りではequityは「諸経費を差し引いた額」の意味が適当だと思います。 こんな感じでいかがですか？
