アメリカでの保釈金について

マリファナを所持していた男が、捕まった後の事について語っているのですが… "i had to post 500 dollars for my 5000 bailbond." post 500 dollarsってどういう事でしょう？保釈金は5000ドルみたいなのですが？

「おれは5000ドルの保釈ボンドを得るのに現金500ドルを積まなきゃならなかったぜ。」 bailbond：損保会社等が発行する、「保釈保証証券。」もし被疑者が逃亡したら、損保会社は裁判所に5000ドル支払い、被疑者が捕まったら求償します。 post：被疑者が5000ドルの保釈ボンドのために500ドル預託したというのですから、損保会社にボンド発行の料金として500ドル支払ったと見るのが普通です。 ただpostは元々保証金を積む、預託する、の意味もありますので、裁判所にまず500ドル支払ったとも取れなくはありません。可能性は少ないでしょう。
