1。 彼女は間違いを冒した。(とは言え)ハッキリ言って大惨事と言うほどでは無い。もし我々の一人が下品なことばをつい漏らした、あるいは保護者の綽名を面と向かって言ったとしても、大体同じようなことだったろう。 2。"...had one of us slip a rude word"の意味がわからないので、教えてほしいですm(__)m 下記(1)の4、接続詞 i f が省略されていて倒置が行なわれた例です。 http://www.eibunpou.net/10/chapter25/25_5.html ...had one of us slip a rude word" は if one of us had slip a rude word" と同じです。 ですから思わず "shit" と言ったり、(保護者の前で)あだなの「デブハゲ」とポロリと口から出ちゃった、ようなことだと思います。

The massive Spring Offensive had been an unmitigated disaster, whereas the Allied counter-attack, the Hundred Days Offensive, had driven Germany back towards its own borders. On 6 November, von Tessmar announced the full withdrawal of German soldiers from Luxembourg. Five days after von Tessmar's announcement, Germany signed an armistice treaty, which brought an end to the war of four years. One of the terms of the armistice involved the withdrawal of German soldiers from Luxembourg, along with the other occupied countries.

In comparing his results obtained for different domains, Galton claimed that they supported, but did not prove, his hereditarian thesis. "The general result is, that exactly one-half of the illustrious men have one or more eminent relations." The highest proportion of the illustrious with an eminent family, 0.8, he found among senior judges(24 out of 30 lord chancellors) and men of science (65 out of 83), the lowest, 0.2-0.3, among divines (33 out of 196) and musicians (26 out of 100), with an overall average for all domains of 0.5. However, Galton admitted that his personal bias could easily have influenced his choice of illustrious and eminent individuals. (Genius by Andrew Robinson) 1) 以下の数字が出てくる英文はどのように読むのでしょうか?
