いいと思います。 ただ「徳川家自身の結合」は、（１）公家と徳川家との結合、と（２）徳川家と大名の結合、と両様の解釈が出来るので、原文の（P２）だけに絞るのがいいかも知れません。 それが必要とお考えなら、「徳川家自身の結合」を、「徳川家との結合」に変えるだけでいいと思います。

ここでのbound them のthemはmilitary lordsと取るべきと思うので、ここでの関係はあくまでも大名と京都の公家、大名と徳川家との関係を言っていると思います。徳川家と公家の間にもあったでしょうがここでは触れていません。 were related toは「～と親戚関係になった。」で間違いないと思います。
