Only their mother can tell one of the twins from the others. That is true. I do. まず、from the othersが変です。tell A from Bは、AとBを区別するということですから、from the otherになります。one of the twinsはくどいので、tell one from the otherがよいでしょう。 That is true.は相手が言ったことに相槌をうつならよいですが、自分の発言についていうのは一般的ではないです。 I do.はだめです。この場合のdoは既出の動詞を受けているはずですが、該当するものがありません。 (Only?) the mother of a pair of twins can tell one from the other. I do know this. あたりだと思いますが、onlyがついていると事実ではないですし（少なくとも双子のそれぞれは相手が自分でないことを認識していますし、父親が見分けられないということも考えにくいです）、onlyがなければあたりまえ過ぎるように思います。言いたいことをもうちょっと整理された方がいいと思いますが。

映画を見ながら勉強してます。帰宅した娘に気づいた母が娘を呼びとめ、「あんたキスしたでしょ？」と問い、「してない」と言い張る娘に、 母:Yes,you have.I can tell. 娘：You can't tell. 母：Not only can I tell, I know who it is. 字幕では「相手だってわかるのよ」、吹き替えでは「それだけじゃないわ」、となってます。 そこで質問です。Not only の後が I can tell ではなくて can I tell となってるのは、倒置法とか何かそういう文法上のルールがあるのでしょうか？ 「私ができるのは tell だけじゃない。(know でもあるのよ。)」という意味合いで、It's not only that I can tell. と言えますか？言える場合、この文章と Not only can I tell では意味上どう違うのでしょうか？ Not only can I ～ を今後自分でも使ってみたいので、どなたかご説明お願いします。
