こんにちは。保険に関する洋書を読んでいるのですが、１つ分からない言葉があります。 a number of policies (n), and each policies produce a number of claims on average m. Average Claims Size x. Therefore, Average loss is nmx. この文章の中で、Claim Sizeというのがありますが、これは何を指しているのでしょうか？要求(または請求)のサイズということになると思うのですが、日本語に訳してもこれがどういうことを言っているのか分かりません。もしお分かりでしたら教えてください。

友人の話になりますが、友人の母親が12年ほど前に脳梗塞で倒れ、数ヶ月入院しました。当時から生命保険には加入していたのですが、その時は保険金の請求はしなかったそうです。 それから12年たち、友人の母が再度脳梗塞で入院したそうです。 そのため、友人が今回は入院保険の請求をしようと思い立ち、退院後の母親と一緒に保険会社に連絡をし、請求手続きをすると共に、「過去に保険の請求しなかったことがある」などの会話をしたのですが、保険会社が調べたところ、当時30万円の保険金の請求があり、支払いがされているとのことでした。 友人と母親は保険金の請求をした記憶がないため、驚き調べたところ、友人も母親も過去に取引したことのない銀行に、母親名義の預金口座が作られ、そこに保険金が入金され、引き下ろされているとのことでした。 この場合、被害者は偽造の保険金請求書（友人の母親が作成した記憶がないため）により保険金を請求をされ支払った保険会社であり、銀行は単に犯罪の道具として利用をされただけと考え、事件としては、 １、保険会社に対する詐欺（保険金請求書の有印私文書偽造は包括され る。） ２、銀行口座開設のための有印私文書偽造、同行使 が成立する。 と考えて良いのでしょうか？ さらに、この件に関して、友人の母親は何らかの損害賠償を請求できる立場にあるか、それとも単なる参考人という立場になるのでしょうか？ 長文になってしまいましたが、友人から質問をされた際、自信をもって回答ができませんでした。よろしくお願いしたします。
