It is common for bears to carry a carcass to the riverbank and not eat a bite after finding it is a female salmon that has already laid her eggs.

Think of it this way. Each of us is, more or less, an egg. Each of us is a unique, irreplaceable soul enclosed in a fragile shell. This is true of me, and it is true of each of you. And each of us, to a greater or lesser degree, is "The System". The System is supposed to protect us, but sometimes it take on a life of its own, and then it begins to kill us and cause us to kill others-coldly, efficiently, systematically.

以下の英文を和訳していただけるかたのみで、 お願いできますでしょうか? かなり抽象的な段落だと想像しますので 意訳していただけるとありがたいです。 どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。 He has high cheek bones that are high and also broad and smooth and softly angular, as is the forehead. No plumpness or sagginess in the face, but not sharp or thin like sticks of bone, all just smooth soft flesh and sleek musculature and close fitting smooth though not excessively tight skin. The face below the forehead and cheek bones becomes marginally leaner, it narrows as it lengthens, and stretched down to the jaw but the cheeks are not hollowed. The face and features are delicate, not gaunt but sleek, slightly refined, though the nose is more ordinary, heavier and not so finely made. It is triangular in shape, and the shaft like the spine of a book, quite even. It has a long tapering nose bridge with tension lines at either side, curving onto the forehead. The nose is in good proportion to his other features. even if it is a less elegant and refined. The nose tip is slightly rounded and broad taking the delicacy off the face and making it more ordinary every day face. The jaw line is also little less delicate.

Recently, scientists have discovered several key genes connected to aging. The discovery suggests that people are built to get older, and weaker, and then to die. This seems rather strange and would appear to go against the theory of evolution. After all, if evolution is so efficient, why don't genes want us to have longer and longer lives? The simple fact is this: the genes that really matter are the ones that favor survival in early life. Once the organism has lived long enough to reproduce, it has served its purpose as far as evolution is concerned. Indeed the human life span has increased over the last hundred years or so, but this increase has nothing to do with our genes, rather with improvements in our lifestyle such as better diets and better health care. So, from the genes' point fo view, it is vital that we live long enough to reproduce. What happens to us after that is of little concern to them. Thus, genes that make us strong and healthy during our reproductive years are always more valuable, more beneficial than those that may help us live longer.

This symbol went across the Atlantic to the U.S. and took on additional meanings. Especially in the 1960s and 1970s, it was adopted by several counter-culture movements such as the anti-Vietnam war protests, environmentalism and women's rights. This simple icon has been used in many countries around the world, even as a fashion item. It now appears on millions of mugs, T-shirts and accessories. Perhaps the reason it has lasted for over 50 years is because it can be reproduced quickly and is adaptable to different appeals. Interestingly, the London marchers five decades ago never registered it as a trademark. "It's a symbol of freedom," they say. "It's free for all." 確実な全訳が なかなかできません… 至急よろしくお願いします!
