Augustus) は、「シケリアのディオドロス（別名アウグストス）」というか、「紀元前1世紀のギリシャの歴史家」であるということを考えると、まだ強大なローマ帝国が支配していた時代であり、ラテン語式の名前も持っていてもおかしくはないでしょう。 (2) at least substantially 私なら、一応は「少なくとも本質的には」と訳しておきます。 (3) this is the one ... which has come down to us come down to ... を辞書で引くと、「人に伝わる、引き継がれる」などと出ていました。 this は such a body of poetry のことだと思いますから、私は「今日残っているものは、Diodorus が言及した時のものと、実質的には変わりないものであるといって差し支えないだろう」という意味に解釈しました。 「that以下のことは十分あり得る」という理解で間違いではないと思います。
