知覚動詞の使い方をどこかでご覧になったことがありますか。 たとえば， I heard her playing the piano. （彼女がピアノを弾いているのを聞いた。）のように，V （見る，聞く，感じる…など知覚を表す動詞）+ O + ～ing で，「Oが～しているのを見る，聞く，感じる」と使います。ご質問の場合も，listen to がVに相当し，being criticized so unfairly が～ing の部分に相当しています。be は受動態の be で，be criticized で「批判される」です。それが，～ingになって，「彼らが～されているのを聞く」という意味になります。 なお，このingは，ＳＶＯＣのＣになっている現在分詞の形容詞用法とも言えますが，そこまでは気にしなくてもいいのかなとも思います。

(1)beingは文法的にどういう役目をしているのでしょうか？ この文ではbeingがないと文法的におかしいのでしょうか？ (2)as well as は接続詞と理解しています。 ということは、A as well as Bの場合、Aが節であればBも節、Aが名詞句であればBも名詞句といというふうにAとBは同じ文型になるのでしょうか？ 何卒宜しくお願い申し上げます。
