＃１さん同様に状況がよくわかりませんが、 実際にネイティブでも（というよりネイティブだと？）、一人称や三人称での仮定法で"was"と言ってしまうケースは多いです。 書き言葉で"was"を使うと「学が無い」と思われるかもしれませんが（とはいえ高校生くらいだと結構間違えてます）、話し言葉だと普段からよく耳にします。 感覚的には、日本語の「全然＋肯定語」くらいの間違いでしょうか？

2. は普通に仮定法だと思います。 「質問」とありますが、これは「質問文」として発せられたのですか？ また、発言者はどなたなのでしょうか？ ホテルの従業員？ 1. と 2. は同一人物から発せられたのでしょうか？ シチュエーションがよく飲み込めません。
補足
国立公園に泊まり、そこから後日インターネットでアンケートが来ました。二つの質問が１、２と続いたので、疑問を感じ登校させていただいました。

英語初級レベルの者です。 仮定法をやり直していて、いまさらながら仮定法過去の「was」が「were」はどうしてかなー・・・と If I were free, I would help you. （僕に暇があったら、手伝ってあげるのに） で、仮定法過去において原則、wasはwereになります。 と文法の本で説明されています。 過去形のキーワードは、「（時間・人理的に）離れた」ニュアンスで、 過去形という時制の形は、心理的に「何らかの距離感、隔たり」というニュアンスをもっているのが 過去形。 仮定法過去形は「今（現実）」との距離を表している。みたいな感じで説明してありました。 ここまでの説明はわかるのですが、何故、「was」が「ｗｅｒｅ」なのかと。 よろしくお願いします。

If there were no wind at all, the sea would slowly rise and fall again, because of the tides made by the moon ; but it would do this very quietly , so that if you just looked for a moment you would notice nothing. この英文のyou would notice nothingを、if you just...が仮定になってるからwouldが使われているのだろうと考えたのですが、if you just...が無くても前のif there were...という仮定を受けてwouldが使われるとも考えられるということはないでしょうか。

仮定法で英訳をしたのですが自信がないので 間違っているところがあれば教えていただけるとありがたいです。 (1)もし今日暇ならば、君と一緒に映画に行けるのに。 私の英訳＞ If I were free today, Iwould go to see a movie. This was my first stay at this hotel, and only my second stay in the Ginza area of Tokyo. Given the French theme, I was expecting a more western style hotel. The appearance was western, but other aspects were more in line with low cost Japanese hotel. given the french termの部分は、どういう意味でしょうか？ ウェスタンタイプのホテルを期待していたのに、見た目だけがウェスタンで他は安っぽい日本のホテルと同じだったという内容ですよね。何故フランスがでてくるのでしょうか？

A group of European astronomers has obtained a photograph of what appears to be a planet orbiting another star. 「他の星の周りを回っている惑星の写真が発見された」 と、ここまではいいのですが、下記の文に疑問があります。 If this is true, it would be the first confirmed picture of a world beyond our solar system. もし仮定法なら、 If this was true, it would ... If this were to be true, it would ... などとなるべきではないでしょうか？ これは英文としてあっているのでしょうか？（とある新聞系メルマガの文章です）
