外国の友人からローマ字でメールを受け取ったのですが、英語に訳して合っているか聞こうと思いますが、この１行がどう意訳して英訳すれば良いのかわかりません。

の空所に入る１語を文脈から考えて入れなさい。という問題ですが、答えには、fourth または last となっていました。ここに、other はだめでしょうか？
ディズニー映画「ヘラクレス」の挿入歌の“Zero to Hero”について質問です。
この曲は、ヘラクレスがギリシア中の人気者になったというシーンで流れるのですが、
And they slapped his face on ev'ry vase.
と言っている部分の後で、この部分を歌っている女性とは別の人が“on ev'ry vase”の部分を繰り返しているのですが、そのvaseの発音が、ヴォース(?)のように聞こえます。
映像では“on ev'ry vase”を言い直しながら、先にヴェイスと歌った女性を叩いているので、この言い直しには何か意味があるような気がするのですが、分かる方いますでしょうか。
歌詞はネット検索しかしていないのですが、両者ともにvaseと表記しているページと、前者をvase、後者をvahseと表記しているページがありました。
なお邦訳の歌詞はこの部分を完全に違う内容に言い換えている(前の女性が「ヘラクレスを独り占めにしたい」と言い、後の女性は「みんなのもの」と言いながら前の女性の頭を叩く)ので、あまり参考になりませんでした。
