stay onは留まるという意味。 直訳すると、「もう一つの話題に移る前に先の話題に留まりなさい」 一つのトピックに留まるという表現は聞いたことがありませんが、 注意の内容はトピックが混ざらないように個別に書きなさいということだと思います。 文章を書くのが苦手な人は 話題が飛び飛びで今何について話しているのかわからないということになりがち。 そういう過ちを避けるようにという注意書きではないでしょうか。

1つ目のトピックに取り掛かったら、そのトピックが完結するまで、次の（2つ目の）トピックに移るな、ということです。 つまり、レポートは、「1つ目のトピック」 ⇒ 「2つ目のトピック」という二部構成でなければならず、二つのトピックを行ったり来たりして書いてはならない、ということです。

こんにちは。 お世話になります。 英語初学者です。 下記に挙げます英文が理解できず、困り果てております。 Emma was happy to entertain their friends, although many of them were closer in age to her father than to her. But on one of these evenings Emma was luckier because one of their neighbours brought a young friend with her. 教えていただきたいのですが、この場合の「with her」のherとは、Emmaを指しているのでしょうか？ それとも、「one of their neighbours」を指しているのでしょうか？ また、もしEmmaを指していた場合、ニュアンスとしては「彼女に合わせるために連れてきた」となるのでしょうか？ どなたか、教えてはいただけないでしょうか？ よろしくお願いいたします。

辞書を引きながら何となくは理解したのですが、やはりちゃんと理解したくてお願いしてます。 彼とは友達ですが、彼の方にはそれ以上の感情があると分かりました。 以下 『もう会わない方がよい』とメールした後に彼から来たメールを抜粋した内容です。 特に後半部分が良く分からず返事が必要なのか、しない方が良いのかの判断がつきません。 どうか宜しくお願いします。 But one thing you should know is, it may be eassy to make a friend but very difficult to forget a nice friend. Anyway as i told you before i have no other choice than to respect your desition. true if it is on my power i could have do anything to make you stay with me But your the one to deside i'm gona miss you But just take care of your self 恐らくdesitionはdecisionのスペルミスだと思います。 他にもスペルミスやクセがありそうなんですが、だいたいのニュアンスが分かりましたら宜しくお願いします。
