こんばんは。お世話になっています。 伊藤和夫『英文解釈教室 改訂版』から質問をさせて下さい。 The very bigness of America has an importance in the formation of its tradition which it is not easy to overestimate. It creates the belief that America is different, is somehow exceptional, that there is reserved for its citizens another destiny from that which is to befall the Old World. 著者は、二段落目の：...that there is reserved for its citizens another destiny from...の部分の説明で、"there is reserved の主語は、for its citizens を飛ばした後の another destiny だ"と書いています。 ただ、there V S構文のVの部分に受動態が使われている形など見たことがないので、この説明が正しいのかどうかいまいち確信が持てません（もちろんきっと正しいのでしょうが）。またこの部分を there V S構文を使うことで何か意味の違いはあるのでしょうか？個人的には another destiny which... is reserved for its citizens.とでもすれば良いのにと思うのですが・・。 もしよろしければ、この部文の説明をもっと詳しくしていただけたらとても助かります。うまく質問できずにすいません。
