know の場合、 You know who that man is. Do you know who that man is? That man is X. の X を尋ねる Who is that man? の間接疑問 who that man is を使っています。 Do you know who that man is? には yes/no で答えます。 その人が誰だか知っていますか？ 一方、Who do you think that man is? は その人が誰だと思いますか？ で、yes/no では答えません。 それでも、Who is that man? の間接疑問 who that man is が含まれ、do you think が挿入された形になります。 つまり、who - do you think という以上に、 who - that man is というつながりで、 Who is that man? をイメージすれば、 なぜ who だけかがわかるはずです。

(1)How about you? と What about you? は同じと理解していますが，もし違いがあれば教えてください。 (2)それと，「どう思う？」は， What do you think? であって How do you think? ではないと，今まで思っていましたが， 最近，How do you think? と書かれているのを見かけました。 どちらでもいいのでしょうか。 それとも何か違いがあるのでしょうか。 よろしくお願いします。

質問で 「あなたはこの猫をどう思いますか？」 「Ｄｏ ｙｏｕ ｔｈｉｎｋ ｏｆ ｔｈｅ ｃａｔ？」 回答で 「私は、その猫はかわいいと思います。」 「Ｉ ｔｈｉｎｋ ｔｈａｔ ｉｔ ｉｓ ｃｕｔｅ.」 この回答の英文ですが この場合は that は不要ですか？ それとも it is cute ではなく、 the cat is cute のほうがいいですか？ また、質問文での that の代わりに of を使うのは、 その後が、物だった場合でよろしいでしょうか？ 上記の質問文はネット動画配信でthinkの使い方を説明してる人が 言ってたことですが、 上記と同じ質問文を、ウェブリオというサイトで翻訳したら 「How do you think of this cat?」 「What do you think of this cat?」 と訳されました これも同じ意味でしょうか？

what do you thinkの用法についてなのですが、銃器を国是と考えているアメリカ人に「アメリカから銃器を取ったら何が残ると思う？」と聞く場合、通常what do you think about～の用法でwhat do you thinkは使われると思うのですが、、検索エンジンでwhat remains do you think の様な文があったのですが、whatはwhich do you think is correctのように使用可能でしょうか？ 翻訳後に説明を頂ければ幸いです。
