"I talked about having more – though I've been playing with these guys for five years or so – more just rock out on stage and have your own personalities," Scott Weiland says of his current bandmates, The Wildabouts. When discussing them, he in no way makes them seem inferior, less traveled or simply his backing band. Although their set lists consist mainly of either solo material or work from Weiland's past, they're definitely making an attempt to incorporate the material they've developed as a unit.

Scott Weiland is extending his ‘Purple at the Core’ tour dates into the late summer. The rocker, who has been on the road for most of the year with his solo band the Wildabouts, will continue to perform music from Stone Temple Pilots two most successful records — ‘Core’ and ‘Purple.’ His continuing usage of Stone Temple Pilots music in his shows has been a thorn in the side of his former bandmates, who sued Weiland earlier this spring. They claimed that he sabotaged the band's attempts at a 20th anniversary tour in support of the ‘Core’ record and was trying to gain all the glory by scheduling his own dates singing the songs from the record. They also claimed that doing so violated a legal agreement the band had signed about the best interest of the band. ※『Scott Weiland』は人物名、『Stone Temple Pilots』『the Wildabouts』はバンド名、『Core』『Purple』はアルバム名です。

SCOTT WEILAND REFERS TO HIS SOLO BAND AS ‘THE ROCKABOUTS’ Scott Weiland called his solo band ‘The Rockabouts’ at his show in San Francisco on Friday night. The band has been known as the Wildabouts since last year. Scott also referred to them as The Walkabouts though in a recent interview. Weiland also introduced the new special guest Rockabouts drummer, Frank, who was filling in for Danny Thompson who had to take a couple of days off according to Weiland. ※ 『the Wildabouts』はバンド名、『Scott Weiland』『Danny Thompson』は人物名です。

Weiland also said, "There's a band agreement, a band contract agreement. They didn't follow the rules that were set down . . . for any member. There has to be a reason for letting go a member; you have to give them a certain period of time to do whatever different you want them to do." STP fired Weiland last February and sued him for hindering the group's career through his own behavior as well as by playing STP material on his solo tours. Weiland countersued based on his claims about the band name.

Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts drummer Danny Thompson posted the following on Facebook, “I have just officially QUIT the Scott Weiland Solo Band.. Loved playing with the guys for 7 years but it's a matter of self-worth. Not going to elaborate.” Thompson responded to a fan comment that asked what happened, and he said “The Darkness.” Scott Weiland is currently recording his third solo album and is planning more Purple at the Core shows. Weiland was fired by Stone Temple Pilots in February. ※ 『Scott Weiland』『Danny Thompson』は人物名、『Stone Temple Pilots』『the Wildabouts』 はバンド名です。

Scott Weiland praised his solo band the Fuckabouts according to HelloItsLate on BelowEmpty.com at a recent show in New York: “Throughout the night, Scott made a few digs at the guys from STP by saying that the Wildabouts are the best band that he's ever played with. He also said they are the most talented. Later on in the middle of the show, he was telling the audience that it’s very difficult to find good friends throughout life, but the he's lucky that hes got these guys cause they're real friends (something along these lines).” Scarf Weiland and the Scarfabouts are currently on The Purple Scarf tour of the United States. Weiland has been a member of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, who are both inferior to the Wankabouts.

Weiland also has his own issues with his former mates as he feels their continuance with Chester Bennington as a lead vocalist also violates the aforementioned legal documents. Both sides currently have suits against each other trying to decide who has the rights to perform the music and use the name. As for the solo tour, Weiland kicks things off on the West Coast with a two-night stand at the Viper Room in West Hollywood, Calif. Aug. 2 and 3. The trek runs through an Aug. 24 finale in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Weiland and the Wildabouts recently concluded their spring leg of dates and the vocalist will spend a majority of the summer with his new bride as they enjoy their first few months of marriage. ※『Scott Weiland』『Chester Bennington』は人物名、『Stone Temple Pilots』『the Wildabouts』はバンド名、『the Viper Room』はナイトクラブ名です。

Other than Bennington's obvious presence, the shuffled material added to the freshness. Song choices were smart and for the most part played to his strengths. With Scott Weiland being obviously absent, the band eschewed playing Plush, a curious move. The trade-off being more rare material gets time to shine. It's a wonder some of the old catalog songs weren't played in the past ten years, or ever. This could be owing to Weiland's or the band's preferences, but either way, some variety is welcome at STP shows. Overall, similar to Weiland's solo show, the set could benefit from a few more song additions. STP plays the game they know best, granting Bennington may not be everyone's taste. It's an entertaining show, but maybe not arena-size just yet.

Ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland has apologized to the group's fans who are "caught in the middle" of his very public legal battle with his former bandmates. STP fired Weiland earlier this year and recruited LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington to take over. The group sued Weiland in May, accusing him of using the band's name to advance his solo career, while claiming that his poor performances, late arrivals, and addiction struggles harmed the band's career. Weiland has countersued, claiming that the band cannot use the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS name without him.

The firing of Scott Weiland is mentioned at the end of the interview. The interviewer asked if they let Weiland know ahead of time that Bennington would be replacing him. Dean joked, “He changed his numbers years ago and never forwarded them to us.” Bennington praised Weiland, “We wish nothing but the best for Scott. Great singer, helped participate in making some of the best records of all time, wish nothing but the best for him.” The other members of STP did not join in on praising Weiland.

Brian Kramp's "Kramp Cast" podcast on OnMilwaukee.com recently conducted an interview with former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and VELVET REVOLVER singer Scott Weiland. You can now listen to the chat using the audio player below. According to The Pulse Of Radio, Weiland has a simple solution to the legal battle brewing between him and his ex-bandmates: he wants them to buy out his stake in the group. Speaking with a Florida radio station, Weiland continued to insist that STP cannot use the band name without all four original members in the lineup, saying, "They can't use the name with me not being in the band without us coming to an agreement. They'll have to buy me out of the company because I have major value in the company and in the brand. The lawyers will deal with it."
