日時と時刻がわかっている場合は、原則、 It is on [日時] (starting) at [時刻] 1. It is July 4. × 2. It is July 4 9:00. × 3. It is on July 4. ○ （7月4日に行われるので間違ってはいない） 4. It is on July 4 9:00. × 消去法では 3. になりますが、この場合開始時刻もわかっているので本来であれば It is on July 4 at 09:00. または It is on July 4 starting at 09:00. とするのが一般的かと思います。

通常，文法書には「関係代名詞 that は継続用法として用いられない」と説明していると思うのですが，ある私立大学の入試問題で次のような文を見かけました．互いに独立な短文が並んでいて，それぞれ４つの選択肢から適語を選んで空欄に入れる問題です． The event will take place on Independence Day, ( ) is July 4. (1) that (2) it (3) when (4) where この中から選ぶとなれば that 以外に考えられませんし，正解も that になっています．しかし，この関係代名詞は継続用法と思われます．とすると，これは非標準の使い方…ということでよろしいでしょうか．また，こういうことはよくあることなのでしょうか．それとも私が何か勘違いをしているのでしょうか． 英語に詳しい方に解説をして頂ければうれしく思います．どうぞ宜しくお願い致します．
