than ～は比較級とともに用いるのが基本です。 あるいは other, different などの語とともに用いるか。 double の場合は than は用いません。 この日本語からだと， The population of this town has doubled. 現在完了で，「今は以前と比べて」の意味が出ます。 普通は The population of this town has doubled in ten years. 「この10年で２倍になった」のような表現になります。

The population of A city is three times larger than that of B city. は可能ですが The population of A city is three times the size of B city. というのは可能なのでしょうか？もしくは The population of A city is three times the size of the population of B city. なら可能なのでしょうか？ お願いします！！

The population of London is two times greater than that of this city. と教材にありました。 The population of London is two times as greater as that of this city. と書き換えてもいいのでしょうか。 それと two times はtwice でも いいのでしょうか。 お願いします。。。
