beaten path というのは「（人がよく通るので）踏み固めらられた道」と言う意味です。 off the beaten path とは、下記のように「人が行かない」「鄙びた」「‘辺鄙な」という意味です。 http://eow.alc.co.jp/off+the+beaten+path/UTF-8/ 訪問者にとって、日本で最近世界遺産となった場所は、（なにしろ）そこへ行く唯一の方法は26時間の船旅だけなのだから、これより辺鄙でない所はないほどだ。

as as possible をとってみると far off 「からずっと遠い」the beaten path 「多くの人が通って踏みならされた道／人々が通る道」→そうした道からずっと離れている is about as far off the beaten path as possible.... で「人々が通る道からは限りなく遠く、」とづなげればいいでしょう。
