trained call って何でしょうか。
Now, why be concerned about that at all -- since I am open to that -- because the historical preservation grants occur in an environment in which there is a trained call to faith based initiative that is flying across this country changing the whole scenario of church-state relations in this country の中にあるtrained call がなかなかわかりません。辞書をひいても、googleで検索してもすっきりしｍせん。どなたか教えてください。

信仰心に根差した施政方針(faith based initiative) に対する「訓練された呼びかけ」によって、歴史的建造物への補助金が得られる、というのが WELTON GADDY さんの主張だと思いますので、具体的には「プロのロビイストを使った、議会におけるロビー活動」とか、そういったものを指しているのではないでしょうか。faith based initiative というのは、ブッシュ大統領の取っている方針ということですね。

neckonさんの情報は私のより正しいだともいます。 ただし、 「歴史的建造物への補助金」じゃなくて、 「歴史的クリスト教会への補助金」 だろうか。

「call to faith」は組織の名前だと思います。 http://www.faithcovenant.org/SW_Resources/CallToFaith/CTFMenu.htm それで、「faith based initiative」は「信仰主義に基づく方針」と言うような 意味ですね。 「trained」は形容詞として動作してますが、意味が１００％分かりません。 ある環境で、この組織が活動していますので、 目的は多分「教会の募集」です。 「組織的に人を洗脳するための信仰主義に基づく方針がある環境」 と言う意味かな？？？

DVDで英語の学習をしております。 ドラマの中で、call the shots の表現が出てきました。 そこでは”（警察組織の中で）決定権をもつ”というような意味で使われていました。 調べたところ、 to be in a position of authority so that you can give orders and make decisions とありました。 この表現を使って文章を作ってみました。 call the shotsはこんな場面でも使えますか？ John, thank you for asking me out.
