standard temperature

Like other mammals, humans are warm-blooded animals with standard body temperatures. The food that humans comsume produces heat energy that keeps the body at about 37C. Human's stable body temperature, however, does not mean that humans are unaffected by heat or cold.

Decadal to millennial scale variations in the surface temperature of the earth can be obtained through proxy records. Millennial scale global and northern hemispheric temperatures have been reconstructed by calibrating the tree-ring growth rate with the instrumental record for the last century (e.g. Mann, Bradley and Hughes, 1999). Borehole temperature records have also provided a direct history of the heat budget of the earth (Huang et al., 2000 and Goto et al., 2005). Although some discrepancies are remained among the various reconstructions, the overall consistency of the records indicates that the earth experienced both cold and warm periods.

In winter, when temperatures sometimes drop overnight to freezing or below, birds try to trap a layer of warm air under their feathers to help maintain body temperature. Singing on a cold night consumes energy, and also burns up precious fat reserves just when they are needed most. Perhaps the cost is worth it to ensure that intruders don't stay around and compete with them for food the followinf day. just when ~はonly when~ですよね。

Lizard disappearances in the areas the team studied can’t be due to habitat destruction because they’re occurring where habitat has been protected. Rather, hotter sites close to the equator or at low altitudes are most likely to lose their lizards. To see how hotter climates damaged the reptiles, Sinervo’s team created a dummy lizard, set it out in the sun at sites in the Yucatan Peninsula where Sceloporus is found and where it had gone extinct, and monitored its temperature. Like all organisms, lizards must avoid overheating and keep their body temperature within a certain range to survive. The problem, the team found, seems to be warmer springtimes, rather than higher maximum temperatures at midday or in midsummer. Higher temperatures in spring mean that the animals spend less of the breeding season out foraging and more time in the shade. “That is the time of year that females need the maximum amount of food,” says Huey. “If the temperature gets higher in the spring, then the lizards restrict their activity. They simply may not have enough active time to catch enough food.” Underfed females do not have the resources needed to make young, causing populations to crash. The ecological consequences of lizard extinctions are unknown. “If Barry’s right or even close to right,” Huey says, “the world as we know it will be very different. Lizards are primarily insect eaters. So if a population goes extinct, that will affect the insects living there. Lizards are also prey for many snakes, birds, mammals and some other lizards. But how serious those 〔effects〕 will be is going to be very difficult to predict.”

By a conservative estimate, current concentrations are trapping an extra amount of energy equivalent to 400,000 Hiroshima bombs exploding across the face of the earth every day. So the real question is where all that heat is going, if not to warm the surface. And a prime suspect is the deep ocean. Our measurements there are not good enough to confirm it absolutely, but a growing body of research suggests this may be an important part of the answer.

By using a model lizard, they measured the temperature that real lizards encountered in their environment throughout the year. They found that warmer temperatures in the spring meant that lizards had to spend more time in that season searching for shade instead of searching for food. Female lizards that cannot obtain enough food in the springtime are unable to reproduce, and the local population soon crashes. Global warming is thus apparently causing sun-basking lizards, animals that we would normally expect to welcome warmer weather, to vanish from the Earth.

Consider the air conditioning of a house through use of solar energy. At a particular location experiment has shown that solar radiation allows a large tank of pressurized water to be maintained at 175℃(448.15K). During a particular time interval, heat in the amount of 1500KJ must be extracted from the house to maintain its temperature at 24℃(299.15K) when the surroundings temperature is 33℃(306.15K). Treating the tank of water, the house, and the surroundings as heat reservoirs, determine the minimum amount of heat that must be extracted from the tank of water by any device built to accomplish the required cooling of the house. No other sources of energy are available.

Fancy living 100 years more? Some experts say scientific advances will one day enable humans to last decades beyond what is now seen as the natural limit of the human life span. An American professor says advances in manipulating cells and genes as well as nanotechnology will make it likely that humans will live much longer in the future. Many other scientists specializing in aging are skeptical of such claims. They explain that the human body is not designed to last more than 120 years. They add that even with healthier lifestyles and less disease, failure of the brain and other organs will eventually condemn all humans.

The global warming is the average temperature and water temperature of sea are rising phenomenon. It is a center of environmental problems in the world. It’s since 1980. Many countries are doing measure for global warming. Because the global warming has a big influence on the entire earth. It can be said that global warming is a cause of various environmental problems, and result. Big cause of global warming is carbon dioxide as know to us. Then , how will carbon dioxide makes the global warming. It is because carbon dioxide has the characteristic of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases is a gas with working that confines heat on an atmospheric inside in the atmosphere. As for the earth, the atmosphere and sea are warmed by light from the sun. Heat by this sunlight is naturally cooled. But, the greenhouse gases stops this heat. The abatement of emission of carbon dioxide is done all over the world, as measures for controlling global warming for this characteristic. So, it can be said that the earth today is in the state wrapped in greenhouse. The problem of the global warming is not only rising of the temperature. It is that, the balance of the climate collapses.

yes they are terrorists, but they had a family, some of them commit these terrible acts because they are told their families will be taken care of if they do, or they truly believe they will go to heaven for it. I don't agree with terrorism, I don't mean to imply that - but you can't ignore the factors of life and society that lead a person to commit such violent acts. It's all around us. In a society of billions of people, it's inevitable. The world can be extremely scary once you realize what humans are capable of. Compared to their body size, they have the biggest eyes of all mammals. They can see six times better in the dark than people can. Cat owners also find that their pets spend a lot of time sleeping. Both domestic and wild cats sleep for sixteen to twenty hours a day. Sometimes cats which are playing suddenly lie down and fall asleep. But they can wake up right away and be ready to chase their prey at any time. Cat owners love watching their cats play with a string or a ball. It's true that humans first tamed cats because they were useful. But today,we keep cats as pets because they have cute looks and mysterious personalities.
