a littleの用法？次の大学入試文法問題の解答の理由が分かりません・・・

Gです。こちらにも私なりの回答を書いておきますね。 ＞We should use ( )time we have available to discuss Tom's proposal. a. a little of b.little c. the little d.the little of （慶大） （ ）に入る正解は解答ではｄのthe little of のようですが、それはなぜなのか、また他ではなぜ駄目なのか見当がつきません・・・ 試験の経験はほとんどありませんが、もっとも日本での英語試験（TOEICを含めて）に大きな疑惑を念を持っている私ですから仕方ないのでしょうが、dを解答とするのは私が持つ疑惑の念を高めるだけのものです。 このカテでも時々見られるおかしな表現（今回のthe little ofより悪い、と言う意味ですが）を一般的と断言し、質問者がそれを鵜呑みにしていつか「使ってしまう」とか学校でそれを自分の回答として使ってバツを食ってしまいその時はじめて使えない英語表現だと分かっても締め切った後では「後の祭り」となってしまうのをふと思い出しました。 ＜ｇ＞ 宿題とかだったら締め切らないで、そして、ネイティブとの会話に使おうとしているのであれば使ってみて本当に問題のない英語表現なのかを確認してからその結果を「お礼」の中で暴露してから質問を締め切れば良いと思うのですが鵜呑みにした時点で締め切ってしまうのでその回答・回答者の評価が他の質問者には分からない事になってしまうわけですね。 本題に戻ると、利用できる「その」少ない時間と言っているわけですから, the little timeと言う表現を使うわけで、little, a littleではフィーリングが伝わらない事になります。 学校文法では制限用法（？）とか呼んでいるようですが。 the little house we live the little money we have the little experience I have accumulated と言う風に使うわけです。 the little amount ofであれば問題ありません。 しかし、このamountがなくthe little ofでは、We should use the little of time we have available to discuss Tom's proposal.となり、使えないとはいいませんが（実際に使うことは出来ます）、the littleがある以上、使われる頻度差から見たらthe little ofと言う表現は解答にはなれないと考えていいはずです。 I have a little time I have little time と言う表現は持っている時間の程度を示す表現として,その程度とこれらの表現とがマッチしていればまったく問題のない表現となります。（マッチしていなければ、おかしな表現となります） しかし今回の場合はwe have availableとtimeの意味合いを狭めているわけですからtheを持ってくるしかないわけです。

ごめんなさい。塾の教材では私には見ることはできませんね。その教材には解説はなかったのですよね。学部と年度が分かれば赤本という手もあるかもしれませんよ。

ある問題集を解いてて疑問に思ったことがありました。 近畿大の問題です。 問 Joe Bush, secretary of the Health Department, discussed health care in ( ) to a reporter's question. 選択肢 1 addition 2 comparison 3 proportion 4 response 正解は１のadditionとなっていて、訳は「厚生省のジョー・ブッシュ長官は、記者の質問に加えて健康管理について論じた。」となっているのですが、 これは４のresponse ではダメなのでしょうか？？ 訳も、「記者の質問に加えて」よりも「記者の質問に答えて」のほうが自然じゃないですか？ 解説には、２と３は「in ～to」というかたちで使えるが文意に合わないので不可、と書いてあるのですが４については全く触れていません。response もin response toという熟語がありますよね。 それともこの熟語は本問の動詞discussとは相性が悪いのでしょうか？ ちなみにこの問題集は初版ということもあり、間違い・ミスプリントがかなり多いので、ついこっちが間違ってるんじゃないか？と疑ってしまいます(-_-;) どう思いますでしょうか？教えてくださいm(__)m
