I see dialogue as a chance for people of different culutures and traditions to get to know each other better, whether they live on opposite sides of the world or on the same street. この英文を訳してください！！ 僕は↓ 私は、彼らが世界の反対側に住んでいようと、同じ道に住んでいようと、お互いをより多く知らせるために、異なった文化と伝統を持つ人々のための機会としての対話を見る。 と訳したんですけど、文がしっくりこない感じがします。 どう訳せばいいのでしょうか？ お願いします。

＞私は、彼らが世界の反対側に住んでいようと、同じ道に住んでいようと、お互いをより多く知らせるために、異なった文化と伝統を持つ人々のための機会としての対話を見る。 ↓ 私は、彼らが世界の反対側に住んでいようと、同じ道に住んでいようと、対話を、異なった文化や文化の人々がお互いをよりよく知り合うためのチャンスであると見なす。 なるべく原文に近い形で変えてみました。 意訳しますと、「コミュニケーションってのは、日本でもどこでも他人のことをよりよく知るためのきっかけになるものなんだよ。」他人のことをよりよく知るための共通ツールであるdialogue（会話、対話、コミュニケーション）の世界規模の普遍性を説いた文章だと思われます。 それはともかく、うまく訳せない理由は以下の３つのポイントがきちんと押さえられていないからと思われます。中でも(2)が最大の原因だろうと思われます。 (1)see dialogue as chance 「対話をチャンスと見なす」 regard A as Bとかも同じです。 他の方が仰ってるように、「思う」とか「認識する」とかでも似たようなモンです。要は、視覚としての「見る」ではないということがポイントです。 (2)chance for people...to get to know each other 「…人々がお互いを知り合う（ための）チャンス」 to以下がchanceにかかります。 こんな感じの文章が参考になるんじゃないでしょうか。 it's nice for students to work part-time. 「学生にとってアルバイトをするのはいいことです」 to 以下がitのことを示しています。 for～がtoの主語的なものになります。（＃２さんが仰ってることです。） (3)get to know～ ～を知るようになる、懇意になる ⇒get to know each other お互いを知り合う 以上、参考まで。

直訳しすぎるとしっくりこないですよね。 seeは”見る”というよりも”認識する、している”、 というニュアンスで捉えてみてはいかがでしょう？ 私なら、 ”私は、世界の反対側に住んでいようが、お隣さんであろうが、 対話というのは異なる文化や伝統を持つ人々にとって お互いをより深く理解する良い機会だと思う” という感じで訳します。

「私は意見交換というものを、地球の裏側に住んでいようが同じ通りに住んでいようが、文化も伝統も違う人たちがお互いによりよく知り合うための好機として、捉えている。」 for A to B ＡをＢの主語的なものとして捉えると分かりやすいのでは？

You held the same beliefs but may have been on different sides of divided city, or like being on different sides in war, or an apartide state, if you see what I mean, not allowed to fraternize, or risking dire consequences if you did. But risking it anyway, both because of the love you had, the passion, the lust, and also because of the karmic task, the things you believed in that also went against the grain of the prevailing time. I cannot tell where this was or put a date on it, b jut it may have been a theme or pattern that has repeated through several life time.

他の質問者の文からなのですが、 Use this to determine whether the sensor is looking for the label to be placed on the same object as the sensor, within the sensor’s detection radius, or either of these. という文で、 whether の使い方は、whether A or B (not), などと覚えたのですが、 ふつうのorの使い方のように 「AやBやCやDなど」を whetherで whether A文、B、C or Dなどと使うことは可能なのでしょうか？ お願いいたします。
