この英文は文法的/意味としてなりたっているか？
Young black males are overly regarded as equivalent to the perpetrators of violence. 黒人が受けるステレオタイプについての文章を 学校で書くことになり、今取り組んでいます。 １）上の英文が、まず文法的に成り立っているか、 そして意味として通っているか、チェックして くださいませんか？お願いします。 ２）regardedの代わりにseenにしても いいですか？（どちらがより堅い英語か、 くだけていないか、など、もしあれば 教えてください）

基本的に（とくに文法上）は正しく書けていると思います．ただ”overly regarded”，”equivalent to”や”the perpetrators of violence”の部分がやや不自然に聞こえるので，次のようにするとすっきりするかもしれません： Too often [All too often], young black males are regarded [seen] as perpetrators of violence. この文脈では，”regarded”と”seen”の間に意味上，ニュアンス上これといった違いは見当たりません．

似たような質問が続きすみません。 What did Edmund Burke say is the problem with the state?という質問に対し、 He said the problem of the state is that all states trying to control human violence must be run by members of the same violence species. という回答をしようと思うのですが、こちらの英文の添削をして欲しいです。 下記の内容から少し文章を変えて英文を作りました。 Whether or not we accept the legitimacy of states as at least a theoretical possibility, we all are concerned with controlling the violence of the state. Edmund Burke was pessimistic about the possibility, given that all states intended to control the violence of humans must be run by members of that same violent species. The state itself, he argued, was the problem. よろしくお願いします。

With oil as high as they are and profits being squeezed, the company decided to turn down the thermostat in the building in order to save money. 上記英文の as high as they are の文法的解釈がいまいちわかりません。 they are とは何を指しているのでしょうか？私が訳すと以下のようになります↓ 「彼らと同じくらい高いオイルと、利益が縮小しているので、その会社は、お金の支出を抑えるために、そのビルのサーモスタットを弱めて使用することを決めた」 大きな誤訳はないと思うのですが、as high as they are があいまいですっきりしません。それぞれの as の品詞を含めてご説明していただけるとうれしいです。 よろしくお願いします。

You have what it takes. （私の日本語訳） いかなる必要のないものも振り払ってしまって下さい。あなたには力があります。 最後の一文you have what it takesはどういう感じに訳せる可能性がありますか？

June 6発行のＴｈｅ Daily Yomiuriに添付のＷａｓｈｉｎｇｔｏｎ Ｐｏｓｔの記事タイトル（Ｐ１３）、"Moving in with your parents?....に下記英文があります： 左から３コラムで、上から２Ｐａｒａ, Top line から、Ｉｔ is not that young people spurn entry-level jobs. It's that entry-level jobs are all too often dead-end jobs.. この英文の意味はわかりますが、Ｉt is not that～の構文は強調構文でしょうか、それとも形式主語構文（？）でしょうか？次のＩｔ is that の構文も文法的な意義が把握できませんが、よろしくご教示 お願いします。
